Its just 1 year...
I recall Loki being pissed.
But it is just a part of the rivalry, should make 24/7 and our games that much more interesting.
We could just swap the Pirates and Philly so all the relevant teams will be on the same side of the state.

Q: Why Philadelphia, over Pittsburgh or other teams?
Before I start talking, it surprised me when you said money - there were a lot more teams with a higher offer than Philadelphia. I didn't think I was going to go there, but after the conversation with the coaches and Chris Pronger, I started to like it and I also like that there is something to this from their side, and that was important to me.
I said before he was signed that he was a decent gamble at 2 but not worth going any higher.

From BroadStreetHockey
Every other decent winger signed for multiple years. I'm glad they signed Jagr instead of signing Leino or Cole for 4 years+.
Time will tell.
I have yet to hear an athlete say "Hell yeah it was the money" Do you seriously think someone offered him more than 3.5 when he wasnt even that good in the KHL?
146 in 155 games over the past 3 season is decent in my books.
Of course noone is just going to say the money brought them in, but he claims higher offers were made. In all honesty all I think I will take his word for it over yours.
It's funny how all the Pitt fans are saying he's not worth the money but a lot of othernteams say we got a pretty nice deal. I guess it depends if your the girl or the guy in the relationship just like jagr says.
It's not a bad signing for you guys at all. If you guys do compete in the playoffs, Jagr will help out tremendously. If you guys don't go too far, where do you think some of that finger pointing will go?
Talbot's a completely different story. I still love the guy and I'm glad he got the money he did. I'm not sure if he's there skill-wise, but he works his ass off doing anything and everything to help his team. Maybe even spying on their cross-state rivals for the rest of his career...

Why would he pass up more money to go to Philly? It isnt like they just turned half their roster over.
Q: What did you like about Philadelphia that swayed you here?
"There's a lot of things. When you're talking to the GM and the coaches, you kind of have a sense of what they're trying to do. I also liked that they made a great move with the goalies before I even signed with them. I follow a little bit of the NHL even though I haven't been there for three years, I follow it, and I know Philadelphia's defense is very good. There are some guys that when I was the NHL I played against and it was always tough to play against them. They're not only good defensively, but they're also good offensively, and that's very important in the new style of the NHL. I'm going to have an opportunity to play a little more than [I would] with other teams. Philadelphia made those trades, and I know it's going to be tough for the fans because the GM traded two very good players, and it's not easy for the fans to see it, but I think it would be a lot easier for me to come in if the team stayed the way it was before, but you never know.
I guess we will see what happens, neither one of us will agree on this. I will never see why less than a PPG player in the russian league is worth a 3.5 mill risk. Let alone something to be jealous of.
it is a one year deal which I would take 10 out of 10 times over the deal Leino got. And this is not anything to be jealous about, it is who he is that makes this a funny situation. One of your franchises best players of all time comes back, but then doesnt sign with you after all the "Jagr Watch" and further more goes on to compare that team's fanbase to crazy girls and call the city the City of Chumpions.
Oh yeah, he signed with that team's cross state rival.
Do you really believe the article above? It doesnt seem all that credible to me. As for being one of the best Pens, that was a long ass time ago...Since then spending time with another team most of us hate (Caps) this really isnt all that much of a shock anymore.
