Not to take away anything from Barry. But Lamar is at 6.1 ypc, for his entire career.
Vick is at 7.0.
Bobby Douglas 6.5

It's not but their entire gameplan will be to NOT allow Barkley to break that record there. I'm predicting, IF the Eagles will try to get him the record. Meaning that will be the ONLY REASON they'll be playing him.Let's not act like the Giants defense is top 5 or 10 or 20th. Did you ever think the OC would scheme for that situation? Let's play your little game of throwing 9 in the box. Hurts throws for 600yds, Giants lose 62-3. What's more embarrassing to the players? Losing 62-3 and fully getting mocked or giving up the record and losing a much much closer game.
Well OJ's record does have a stiletto knife glyph next to it indicating that.Buuuuuut Dickersons record didn't have an asterisk since it was done in 16 games rather than 14 by the murderer.
In a sense yes they'll game plan for Barkley but they still have to game plan for the pass. 9 in the box is an easy audible moving receivers around for quick slants. If these coaches only went 9 in the box and got absolutely decimated, none of them would find work except in pee wee football. It's not but their entire gameplan will be to NOT allow Barkley to break that record there. Even the Giants with a 9 man front cant be run on. That's the way I see it but I get what your saying too.
Then again...it very possible the Giants PLAYERS like Barkley and will do a Brett Favre and won't give a "full effort."
From the total amount of games played standpoint. He can't break dickersons recordBarkley needs 100 yards to tie Dickerson's record. Philly has nothing to play for next week.
Dont think the Giants care if they win. Then again the staff is pretty much gone. I'll bet the front office was pissed they won last week.In a sense yes they'll game plan for Barkley but they still have to game plan for the pass. 9 in the box is an easy audible moving receivers around for quick slants. There's also a chance they bench him so could be moot point.
Won't matter now, Barkley sits Sunday.Dont think the Giants care if they win. Then again the staff is pretty much gone. I'll bet the front office was pissed they won last week.
It's the Giants. They'll just draft Ewers or some shit anyways.I would be shocked if Saquon played next week.
I expect the Eagles brain trust to shut everyone down, and let the Giants further ruin their chances of drafting a franchise QB by having New York win another meaningless game. Can't have any more Jayden Daniels in this division now!
Its actually quite smart. Eagles fan should be happyWon't matter now, Barkley sits Sunday.
If I was a Giants fan I'd be pissed they won.
Listening to his presser he wants that record but his end goal is that ring and he knows he has to stay healthy to have that chance. Its actually quite smart. Eagles fan should be happy
Huh...still applies though...I think.
OJ, Jim Brown and Sir Walter Payton all had more yards gained per game than Eric Butthurterson did. There's the true irony - him calling out Barkley on a record that, in truth, belongs to OJ. Payton second, Jim Brown 3rd, and Eric buthurtickerson 4th.
If he had the required amount of self awareness, it would be useful to tell him to shut the fuck up. But, alas, he does not.
One more thing - Barkley carried the ball 345 times and averaged 5.8 yards per carry for 2005 yards through 16 games. Butthurterson carried the ball 379 times and averaged 5.6 yards per carry for 2105 yards. Eric needed an extra 34 rushes to get that extra 100 yards. Pussy.
And wait! There is more. Barkley has 278 yards receiving. That gives him a total of 2283 yards from scrimmage. Dickerson had 139 yards receiving. That gave him a total of 2244 from scrimmage.
And, oh yes! There is yet more! Barkley's team is 13-3. Butthurtickson's team went 10-6.

QBs shouldn't count wrt that stat.
The irony of course is he didn't win MVP that year. The other big irony is Marinos record season of 84 has been surpassed, what a dozen times? Where EDs hasn't been. That means that after 40 years, it is actually more valuable.LOL. Rams in 1984 were only 10-6 and the passing game was led by Jeff Kemp at QB, with Henry Ellard, Drew Hill and Ron Brown at WR. They didn't have the passing threats (2300 yards passing) to keep defenses honest like the Eagles do.
If you want to crown him best yards/carry, you're not close there either. If you want to say he had a better overall season, perhaps. Again, different eras and team circumstances.
Agreed. Too many protections for those frail and precious QBs. Take those away and we can talk.
yep...pretty much not the same at allThey get a ton of free yards that RBs never get due to scrambles with a lot of open field in front of them.
Yeah, I thought it was honest of Dickerson to say he wasn't cheering for Barkley to break his record. Nobody should be.LOL at calling him butthurt. Barkley agreed that he would be disappointed if someone broke his record as well, as would any professional player.
