Sounds like you got your money worth. Agree 100% on 1-4. Semien does not need to LO. Defense blew it and that happens.Quick report from the game:
hell of a slog to get through. guys kept getting on while Taylor was on the mound. felt like it should have been 5-0 instead of 1-0.
when El Bombi gave us the lead, the mood changed. really felt like we were gonna pull that one out. then Culberson boffed that play and that took us out of it.
had to leave at the middle of the 7th but had the game on the radio. Willie's HR felt like another game changer. but we all know how the game ended up. lots of big hits and big mistakes. a rollercoaster of a game, and one of the slowest ones I've seen live.
irritated that Miller wasn't starting, and that Culberson was. Miller/Semien/Seager/Garver need to be 1-4. Ibanez needs to be at 3B for defense. I know he boffed the play in CF and fucked up that slide, but El Bombi had a great day at the plate yesterday.
as for the stadium: they've made some minor improvements. better experience this time around. get the brisket mac-n-cheese if you eat at the stadium. roof was open and it was hot in the sun.

Was wondering if you tried any Crawler fries or Gallo goobers. lol
One positive not talked about is we have at least been in all the games. Last night was a prime example how the ball can bounce the wrong way and a W becomes a L. Not knowing how pitching would hold up, somhow we managed to stay in each game. That to me is a positive. With all of the poor defense last night, we managed to keep it close.
Good pointI think the makeup of the bench depends on how strong your starters are. If you have to platoon a couple of guys then you need a bench that can hit. If you have a strong starting nine with no platoons necessary then you can have a more defense oriented bench. Twenty years ago, when our offense wasn't strong enough, Frank Catalanotto was needed on the bench. Ten years ago or so, when our offense was great, Endy Chavez was needed on the bench.
That rookie Kwan is something special. The following is from the Athletic:
Watched a replay of his hits. Pretty impressive. He can hit it anywhereThat rookie Kwan is something special. The following is from the Athletic:
Cleveland Guardians rookie Steven Kwan keeps making history, as he's the only player to reach base 15 times in the first four games of his career since at least 1901. He also set a record by reaching base in his 12 times in his first three games.
Kwan, the No. 5 prospect in Cleveland's system according to The Athletic's Keith Law, entered Monday with eight hits in 10 at-bats after going 5-for-5 in the Guardians' 17-3 win over the Royals, a game in which he was also hit by a pitch.
He went 1-for-3 in Monday's game against Kansas City, including a 3-run triple in the eighth en route to the Guardians' 10-7 victory. With two more walks on Monday, he has five on the season. Kwan didn't strike out during spring training and has yet to swing and miss in the majors.
He has a cutter nowAnxious to see what Martin can do since leaving the Rangers four years ago.
But can he pitch? We'll see.He has a cutter now
