Is it sad that I know who each guy is? The only one I had to look up was the great Lou Alcindor because I knew the all-star selection number was ridiculous, but I didn't know he won 6 MVPs. More than I thought he won. The GOAT is Jordan and his ridiculous ppg and 6 finals mvps. You left off the Hick from French Lick. Your Laker bias is showing
Side note. On Kareem. The older I get and the more I learn about players before my era (mid 80s till now)... The more I respect Kareem. His numbers. His longevity. A finals MVP at age 72. Dude was the 60s and 70s Tim Duncan.
He retired before 1980.
So this is the greatest "LAKER" of all time vote then TF?

Busted.
I gave a lot of thought to including him, but in the end, he usually falls just outside the GOAT discussion. I love me some Larry Bird, but he just missed the cut.
LOL. I think that most would say that Bird is greater than Kobe, though.
I voted for Magic, by the way. I think we get too enamored with points scored. Magic did a lot of other things very well. He's the greatest passer of all time, in my opinion. His rebounding can't be overlooked either.
I looked up Bird's stats. I was a little surprised that he averaged 10 rebounds. I probably shouldn't be because he's 6'9", but I think that Bird's rebounding probably gets overlooked. He also averaged 1.7 steals/game, which is pretty good for a front court player, in my opinion.
Maybe, but there was a time when Kobe was very much in the discussion and MJ himself said that Kobe is the player from today who is closest to how he was. Bird has never really been in the GOAT discussion.
Yeah, he was always a very underrated rebounder. Probably because he did so many other things well.
Yeah, like I said earlier, Magic was GOAT in my eyes for years. But when I looked closer at Kareem's career, I changed my mind.
Hmnn, I never really thought about it that way. Kobe's a great scorer, but he's not super in any other area, in my opinion. Bird was a great scorer, passer and rebounder, and even averaged more steals per game than Kobe. Plus, for years he was the second best player on his own team, while Bird was always the lead dog on the Celtics and he won 3 NBA MVP's.
MJ, Magic and Kareem all have very strong cases. Really, it's just a matter of preference as to who to go with. Kareem was flat out dominant.
Jordan and Lebron are easy to figure out. Should have just put the numbers without the titles, MVPs, or AS appearances.
Player B.
For those people who were saying that he shouldn't have included the awards, how the hell can you vote for the GOAT without acknowledging awards lol. You can't be the GOAT without any award since MVPs and rings are huge factor obviously.
