i just hope they dont go the same route with the casting of the new Superman ... in no way should superman be just an average joe looking actor... i get it for supergirl... it shows more girl power for the younger generations of girls... But Superman never was an acheivable goal for anyone... thats the point of him...

You thought Henry Cavill was average looking? I thought he was well built for the role I definitely thought there were worse supermen. I didn't care for Brandon Routh's superman.

I think he's saying that he hopes they don't go the same route the went with SG. Cavill certainly looked the part, but DC could go with the current "modern sensibilities" bs and cast someone like Ezra Miller for the role.

What the fuck... This movie is so good! I just got out and just want to go see it again tomorrow.

WB finally get their act together... for a movie that is tanking at the box office because of Ezra Miller, bad preceding movies in the universe, and a sense of meaningless because this universe is ending.

havent seen it yet... but i would assume that using the michael Keaton batman by itself would bring in viewers... i dont think people care about the universe...

I don’t know if I’d say tanking, it’s projected to do about $75-80 million opening domestic which puts it ahead of recent big movies such as Fast X and Transformers Rise of the Beasts and slightly behind Guardians 3.

2. an asshole lead actor, who wasn't a big draw even before the controversies

I'll still watch it and hope to enjoy it, but yeah, this will be another bomb in a long line of DCEU bombs.

Yeah it's early and I hope I'm wrong (I'm a DC fan and they really need a hit), but word of mouth is not great enough to overcome the hurdles I mentioned. Right now most of the people who have seen it is the fanbase willing to go to early screenings, and even with them the reception is not great.

Early audience PostTrak exits from Comscore/Screen Engine for The Flash, which has a running time of 2 hours and 24 minutes, shows 4 stars for general audiences and a 60% recommend and 3½ for kids under 12 and 57% recommend. Remember, Thursday night always has better, skewed exits due to fans.

Current projections have it at around $70M opening weekend, so with lots of competition it would need to have really good legs to make $200M domestically (international market has been terrible for DC lately, but maybe this movie breaks out). I hope it's succesful, but if it behaves like most comic book movies, it will end up with numbers similar to Black Adam, which was a bomb and actually had a much lower budget.
