The Flash will be the 12th 14th 13th film of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), following The Batman Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Shazam! 2: Fury of the Gods and preceding Shazam! 2: Fury of the Gods Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Blue Beetle, as the long-anticipated film's release date was finally announced today: Friday, July 1, 2022. Update: moved earlier to Friday, June 3, 2022, but then delayed by covid-19 to Friday, November 4, 2022, and then delayed again to Friday, June 23, 2023, and then bumped up to Friday, June 16, 2023.

The film will be directed by Andy Muschietti, who directed the Stephen King-based movies It and It: Chapter 2.

Ezra Miller will be returning as the titular character.

It is rumored that the film will be based on the Flashpoint storyline and introduce the DC Multiverse to the DCEU.

I understand this is being taken seriously by WB, but it looks like a total joke vid to me. He is moving super slow (I understand the later clips are in slow-mo) and she looks to be smiling the whole time. Not sure how a “joke” like this is a good idea in today’s climate, though...

Variety is reporting it wasn't a joke:

According to a source at the bar, the altercation took place after the individual, identified as Miller, was confronted by a group of eager fans, who were "quite pushy." Things then escalated, with Miller losing his temper at one woman in particular.

Prikið staff escorted the actor, who was upset and angry, off the premises following the incident.

Newsweek also reports:

The video's original poster described witnessing the alleged assault, claiming Miller choked the woman "because he's a fucking psycho and spit on me and two other staff members after the fact multiple times."

However, given that The Flash is going to be dealing with alternate timelines and that, as mentioned above, Michael Keaton is also returning, Ben Affleck's return will likely be a small, near-cameo role similar to Ben Affleck's Batman role in Suicide Squad and the cameos by many characters in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths. Robert Pattinson is still going to be Batman moving forward.
