You will really enjoy last night's episode, IFF. The show is really getting its footing now.

I've been re-reading some of the books (out of order for some reason), and it refreshes my memory as to how the show has diverged. I thought it was interesting watching IFF, to see that Abraham and Frank got direct writing credits for the episode.

So SyFy has decided not to renew Season 3. I really hope someone picks up the show. It is such a good show and I think that SyFy simply didn't get the traction that they could have.

Enjoying seeing how they re-write to get huge space battles condensed down to 3 locations and 15 actors.

So far, so good. Budgets are budgets.

5/10: The Expanse (Syfy) canceled after 3 seasons. Producers are looking for another network for a potential 4th season.

Here is a copy paste from the article linked above which states the probable primary reason The Expanse was cancelled:

Deadline.com suggested that the decision could be tied to the show's viewership; Syfy has the rights to only the first-run television airings of the show, whose views have been declining from season to season. "That puts an extraordinary amount of emphasis on live, linear viewing, which is inherently challenging for sci-fi/genre series that tend to draw the lion's share of their audiences from digital/streaming," Nellie Andreeva wrote at Deadline.com.

So..... if the production company shops the series to another channel which also includes streaming rights as part of the deal, or shops it to a streaming service such as YouTube, Hulu, etc., then perhaps the show can be saved.

Even though Netflix has the overseas streaming rights to The Expanse, per the following article, Netflix is apparently not interested in picking up the show for additional seasons, but Amazon might be interested.

Amazon currently holds the rights to The Expanse for domestic streaming (Netflix has the international rights)..... currently, the only way to see the episodes uncut/unedited is by streaming or buying the DVDs/BluRays.....the version broadcast on the Syfy Channel is edited.

Oh ffs Hank. Chances are if it's 'streaming', some cable network (Bravo etc) in Canada picks it up on a side deal.
