You're kind of missing my point.

Put Geno on the Eagles with the great roster they have (and coaching) and you still have a Super Bowl win, IMO.

Yes, the QB is the most important position in football, but when you've built things properly (which Roseman has certainly done) it gives you a bit more of an opportunity to plug/play at QB.

If you're trying to argue a successful QB in the NFL needs to win something in HS/College to be successful and win a Championship in the NFL... lol. That's where my "Eagles' flu" comment came from. Don't embarrass yourselves as a fanbase. You guys already won.

Eerily similar to Russ’ situation. A great defense and run game around him and he has the ability to make plays with his arm and his legs. Hurts could have done what Wilson did there. And like Wilson, when the team around him starts to fade and the defense isn’t as good and the run game takes a step back so would the success of the QB.

Hurts isn’t a guy who can do it by himself like Brady or Mahomes. Hurts needs a supporting cast around him. But dude executes and makes plays.

I didn't deny Hurts of anything (although I did chuckle that Wilson in Seattle basically did the EXACT same thing less one turnover and didn't get MVP). I simply said the team the Eagles built and their great lines is the MAIN REASON they won the Super Bowl. It was great team built by Roseman. Hurts is a decent QB but nobody would put him in the category of elite. Nobody would put Geno in that category either. My argument is could a healthy Geno lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl behind that running crew, behemoth OL, and defense? Yes. Could basically anyone with a functioning brain that has played QB do it? I’ve seen other QBs not named Hurts try and make it work and you can’t put “any one with a functioning brain” in the game and get the same result. I don’t think you understand the role Hurts plays in the run game. Geno Smith is a lumbering rusher that can’t threaten a defense on zone/keep. Geno Smith couldn’t play the complimentary football the Eagles play. The Eagles defense is great but because of their ball control offense they have defended fewer plays than any team in the NFL this season. You can’t do that with Geno. He’s a turnover machine living off of a single season. It’s a terrible take to think he would be a fit in Philly. This is pretty basic understanding of football and the role the QB plays in shotgun run. If you’re going to mock fans of other teams you should do a better job understanding the great game of football.
