They should change it. Just look at that ball hit by Revere. Gordon slid and missed it, and it's a hit, but if he stays upright and is a little closer they probably call it an error. It's not the best example, but it's basically the same principle. If Barnes slides in right field, it is undoubtedly called a hit. I don't get why it changes because he tried to make a shoestring catch.
