Per source, Shohei Ohtani’s contract with the Dodgers states, “Player will donate to club charity amount not to exceed 1 percent.” Also gives him suite at Dodger Stadium for all regular and post-season games and provides for interpreter.

Damn that is smart. With that detail and the deferrals it seems like ya, he wants the Dodgers to win but dude just agreed to collect $700 million in a high tax state and going end it paying pennies in taxes if he retires back in say Florida or not sure how it would work if he retires back in Japan.

Contract also states, “If specific change in Dodger personnel, player may opt out of contract at end of season the change occurs.” Not known at present who this refers to.

Ohtani contract valuation: $437,830,563**this is how the union is valuing it now but there are obviously different ways to figure it based on interest ratesthe number remains $46M a year for CBT purposes even though this is $43.8M
