Im thinking that we have a punchers chance if our defense plays as well against Sparty as they did against Mich. Even Randle was playing well and the intensity was certainly there. I do feel like our D is going to have to score at least once . Any thoughts

Michigan St's offense has always set up well for Bo's style of defense.

I am not really worried about that side. I am worried how our offense will score on that D. Might be the first team to double digits wins.

Although just when someone thinks that then the score will be 42-40.

I think it will be a lot like yesterday's game. Very very close. They only way I see it getting into the 20s is if there are turnovers returned for a TD or setting up short field.

It will be tough. But so will all the rest of our games.

My concern is that Mich defense kept us in check for much of the game yesterday, and didnt do so against MSU. Did Sparty offense play an exceptional game or did the Mich d step it up yesterday?

Lots of questions for this week? With our Offense as beat up as they are it will take some serious stepping up for us to come out on top but I also believe this will be a very close game 7-3 or maybe 10-7.

I posted this on the main forums

Michigan State is +6 in turnovers, Nebraska is -1.

As Jed says, turnovers will be the key here, and Michigan State seems to be better at it.

A few of us in the season prediction thread said that if Nebraska won in the Big House then Nebraska has a let down against Michigan State. Me included in that group.

The Nebraska offense is only Ameer right now. I think Michigan State stuffs the box and blitzes TAJr a lot. With the shape the Nebraska O line is in, TAJr will be running for his life, which then leads to turnovers. Hopefully, TAJr gets lucky and breaks through the front nine and runs for daylight a couple of times to put Michigan State on their heals.

If the defense is for real then we will get what I have been asking for, no blow outs. Honestly as beat up we are I find it hard to see us getting enough points to win this.

If we go out there and play hard for 60 minutes like we did yesterday I'm happy.

I dont think we will be blown out again this season. An aggressive D prevents scoring at will.

True dat, if we would have started blitzing UCLA in the second half we would only have 1 loss at this point,

my post was to be a bit sarcastic by saying we would have beaten UCLA but not Minnesota, but you wouldnt know that due to the fact that you are trolling.

We won't get blown out the rest of the year because none of the teams left on our schedule are capable of blowing out anyone. At least anyone that is decent.

State's 23-6 they put on Michigan would be a blow out. And Iowa is not one to look past either.

With the defense we had against Minnesota both very easily could be blow outs. It they don't have the ability now it is simply because our defense is now competitive.

Trolling team boards is strongly frowned upon around here. So is lame espn style trolling. You need to keep it on the general forum and step it up quite a bit. You're not only not funny you are wrong.

The Michigan/Michigan St game was a blowout mainly because of the stat line. Not necessarily the score.

I only said no blowouts because, as I said before yesterday's game, all of the remaining teams in our schedule, including Nebraska have the potential to be good but not great and bad but not terrible. I believe all the teams are very close and all these games are going to be nail biters.

I guess the part I disagree on is the bad but not terrible when you put it that way or as you put it originally "capable of blowing out anyone".

Our defense was terrible up front. Anyone could run it down our throat and there was not a damn thing we could do about it.

Two weeks ago no body thought we would be able to finish the schedule without another blow out. After yesterday's game that has changed. These last five games while still likely to be nail biters are doubtful to be blow outs.

So I guess my point is you can only make your statement now because our defense is no longer bad with a propensity towards terrible.

:L yeah, I was thinking we originally looked at the last 5 games as the meat of the schedule and a blow out in there was a definite.

I get too many trains of thought going sometimes and just end up sounding stupid.
