and why is "the gold standard for defensemen" ranked behind three other guys?

Phaneuf is currently better than Edler? Staal?

Also, there is no way that Pietrangelo is a top 10 defender, YET.

Anton Volchenkov is better than Tobias Enstrom? Not a chance.

Suter is too low.

Johnson is too high.

Burns is too high.

I could keep going but all that needs to be said is that this list sucks.

Call me a homer, but Mark Giordano could bump several guys from that top 25 list - Of course, he plays the majority of his games when Puck Daddy is bagging Z's...

/He did garner an honorable mention, so I'll cut Wysh some slack...

From a Penguins perspective, I think Orpik is a better defenseman than both Michalek and Letang.

Most of the positions have one or two players that are clear cut in a class of their own.

Goalies tend to have their up's and downs so it adds fuel to the fire.

should he be a vezina nominee? top 5? 10? some (DBNI) suggest he shouldn't be top 30?
