I like this...but seriously why is there so much doubt in Scott Frost? I have three things that make me love the idea right away.

1. He played for Nebraska, won championships at Nebraska, KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AT NEBRASKA. He is going to bring that fire and passion back. He isn't going to want to fail his alma mater, hes going to want to succeed so fucking hard. We won't have to worry about a coach that 'doesn't care' about the program or 'doesn't understand' what the program means.

2. Frost has connections, Oregon connections/Old Husker Connections/NFL Connections/All his previous assistant positions. He's be under the guidance of GREAT football coaches. Although he has no 'HC' experience yet, hes been working with some of the best as an assistant AND PLAYED FOR the best. He will be able to piece together a very talented and experienced coaching staff to surround him.

3. He is currently at Oregon, and everyone fucking knows that Alabama/Oregon/FSU are TIERS better than the rest of the NCAA right now. Frost is currently living in and coaching in one of the premiere football programs in the Nation. He is going to walk in here, and quickly direct what needs to be done to replicate that atmosphere back in Nebraska.

I have no doubt about Frosts abilities on offense but who will he bring in to run the D. Personally I think our Offense is on track to be a great one. But we NEED NEED NEED some Defense.

Actually, we used to be the Lady Gaga of College Football.....

Now we've turned into the Miley Cyrus of College Football. Not only do we do the most whack shit known to mankind, but we are now actually imploding....running around sticking our fingers in our butt on national TV and making a scene.....then trying to explain it the next day

Forgot about him R_A.. would be happy with him too

He won't be available if Nebraska gives Bo another year. Huskers need to get him at the end of November.

For those who think firing Pelini will scare away good coaches, I disagree.

A GOOD coach likes a challenge. A GOOD coach can look at the product Nebraska's putting on the field and say to himself "I can do better with those facilities, that tradition, that financial support".

It doesn't take a mailman (no offense oaks) to see that Nebraska is just poorly coached in all basic fundamentals, scheme, and S&C. Any coach worth a damn can see that.

Frost has to knowssomebody who is a great DC, hes gotten around quite a bit. No doubt in my mind he gets someone very experienced in that position.

I agree that a good coach wants a challenge, but as JJM said earlier, if 10 wins isnt enough on average what the hell is. We are a very demanding fan base and some coaches may view our expectations as a bit unrealistic. I would be satisfied with Bo minus the blowouts and fluke losses. but Im not sure he can get to that next level.

I want Scott Frost.

I want a coach who I can immediately identify with and energizes the program. Frost is the guy.

I don't really care about whatever risk may be involved at this point. Oregon has the best Offense in the country and they didn't hesitate to hand over the keys to that vehicle to Frost.

Not only that, but Chip Kelly always raved about Frost's ability to develop the players. Chip always said Scott Frost was headed for a big HC position one day. I think it's obvious he needs to be at Nebraska.

We need a young, energetic, enthusiastic coach with a good feel on what it is to be a Husker and what this program means to the state. Get rid of Bo before the shitty bowl game we make and have Timmy send us out on a high note. Pap can stick around and and tie off his sinking ship at the docks.

Bring Scott in right after he wins his Natty and tell him he has a blank check to go get the best of the best.

We spend hundreds of millions of dollars on facilities and we aren't willing to pay out for what really matters: Coaching. Need to bring out the big guns and be in the top 5 for coaches salary and recruiting expenses.

Tom, you threw all that fucking money at BASKETBALL. FUCKING BASKETFUCKINGBALL. WE NEED TO THROW DOUBLE THAT AT THIS SINKING SHIP, DUMPSTER FIRE OF A FB PROGRAM.

Ok I need to calm down.

I just want to see some sound logic come out of the AD and the football offices for once.

JJM put it perfect: We are the goofiest god damned program in the country. Shit you would never imagine happening to any team always happens to us, and it starts with Bo.

I feel bad for TO. Bo really failed him. He's a stubborn, angry, hateful little man who has no development, game prep, or in-game strategy skills.

I'm done with the guy. It's over. This season's only going to get uglier.

We need to plan accordingly.

Scott Frost isn't the best coach available, but he's the best fucking coach we're going to be able to land.

Unless of course Eichorst is a miracle worker. I think there may be a whole lot more to that guy than we think. He could turn out to be a wild man. Tough to walk into a situation like this and have to fire a guy.

T.O. always manages to get the fuck out of dodge right in the nick of time, doesn't he? Imagine him having to fire Bo this year.

is the the heading to a resume fer the job thar Brasky ??

It is certainly a bad situation that Nebraska Football is currently in.

It's honestly hard for me to believe that we can and will hire a coach who can get us to where we need to be. I think people too often believe that Nebraska Football sits on top of this high and mighty throne and the reality of it is everyone thinks we're a joke sitting in the middle of a corn field.

If you're a Head Coach prospect, you have to look at Nebraska and think, "if I don't win more than 10 games I'm going to get fired."

I don't care how much money you throw at a guy, it's tough to pay someone to do a job in hell.

Wrong wrong wrong! Most Nebraska fans are just expecting our team to be competitive against the great teams and win some of those games. Bo Hasn't beaten any great teams in his six years here. Also, we don't expect to get clobbered, outclassed, and outcoached by fair teams with less talent like Nebraska did yesterday.

Tressel is a coach with proven ability and the good news is, he's available at this moment! The only negative is he's 60 years old, so maybe we get ten years out of him?

We don't know what Scott Frost can do as a head coach, but I bet with the right staff, he would be MUCH better than what we have now!

Any Great CEO hires the best qualified people to surround himself with. If that CEO hires shit people, then he or she looks like shit when they can't deliver - no mailman jokes intended. Any great coach worth a crap will get the best assistant coaches he can. Division 1 football is no place for romper room kids to dabble on the job. Bo has done the shit hires, and it failed. Time to move on. Scott Frost? Why not give him a shot. Or get Tressle and watch his ass closely. We can get a good coach who would see this as a dream job and do the right hiring of assistants. Money will not be a problem.

Bo Pelini has pissed off the football gods. He will never deliver as a head coach anywhere.

Back to DC or position coach is the best he'll do. He cannot be the face of a program.

it's how you lose....
4 close fought loses are better than 2 blowout 1 shit game and a good loss to a sec team aka moral victory

SEC schools will be wearing it out to hire him right up as a DC, they've no dignity in sight

Don't be too sure about that. If any of those schools have examined his defensive performances the last few years here, I wouldn't blame them if they told him to fuck off!

honestly I wasn't sold on Frost a month and a half ago when we were talking coaching change after the UCLA game. But now over a month later, I've started coming around. This was even before I read Blackshirt's post. I was thinking a lot of the same thoughts. We need someone who understands Husker football. He's doing an amazying job at Oregon. We have the weapons on offense to immediately pickup what he wants to do.

My one concern is can he actually accomplish #2. Ideally he would take a lower salary and pay a great DC close to a $1M.
