Unfortunately that is probably the answer, but if we get a guy and staff like that we will be forever looking over our shoulder to see who will buy him away from us.
-------
No, if we treat the coaches well by rewarding them in the right manner (not doubling their salary for winning 9-10 games per year), we'll keep whomever we hire. Payouts for top 10 finishes, so many all americans, winning the conference, winning a top tier bowl. Those types of incentives keep the juices flowing and keeps a coach happy. Where we failed with Bo is giving him too much $$$ just for winning X number of games when it proved and did virtually nothing for the program.

1. He played for Nebraska, won championships at Nebraska, KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AT NEBRASKA. He is going to bring that fire and passion back. He isn't going to want to fail his alma mater, hes going to want to succeed so fucking hard. We won't have to worry about a coach that 'doesn't care' about the program or 'doesn't understand' what the program means.

So, did Frank Solich

2. Frost has connections, Oregon connections/Old Husker Connections/NFL Connections/All his previous assistant positions. He's be under the guidance of GREAT football coaches. Although he has no 'HC' experience yet, hes been working with some of the best as an assistant AND PLAYED FOR the best. He will be able to piece together a very talented and experienced coaching staff to surround him.

Frost has never coached in an offense similar to what we have here. He sure as hell cannot use the type of offense Oregon uses as it would take far too long to recruit in that direction (among other things). He's an unproven commodity as a HC in the college ranks and we've had three of those back to back to back. Two of which were "supposed" to be offensive gurus. Please no more hiring of assistants.
