What I'm saying is, the yanks are deliberately trying to keep him off the field for the entire year so that they don't have to pay the salary or the tax.

This isn't true though...insurance is paying his salary for the time missed, up until he's suspended. But it still counts against their luxury tax for this year. The only question being brought is whether the salary for next year should be counted. I feel it should be subtracted from the guaranteed total remaining, and their tax for next year factored off that AAV...which would be just north of $15m as opposed to around $21m...
