What the fuck are you talking about dude?

The Yankees are being rewarded by default because Arod is a washed up bag of piss. If he was plating everyday, and having an MVP year, would the Yankees be rewarded?

No, you would all be celebrating the fact the Yankees are screwed

Does Nelson Cruz count against the Texas cap next season if he is banned all year?

Let's agree that you want a separate set of rules for the Yankees than every other team, and move on

I just would like suspended players count against the Luxary Cap

Is all..so it limits a potential reward.

I know want to think its a Yankee thing...but its really not.

No..and that's the exact point he's making...the yankees are getting "rewarded" by getting out from under the biggest albatross in the game...or at least a significant portion of it as it affects their luxury tax...

"All" players? I'm cool with that

I dis-agree whole heartedly because I don't believe teams should be penalized for the players actions

But I also think there should be steroid "Void" language in all contracts

Yes, all players Dirt

NFL an doesn't have guarantee contracts... Yet there are still Cap hits for Cut players

Patriots got a Cap hit for Cutting Hernandez and his "actions"

Yes they are

So because he sucks, there should be a different set of rules?

Laughable, if he was there playing at an elite level everyday, the league would approach this differently?

A joke

Different league, different set of rules entirely

Contracts aren't guaranteed. The cap hit the Pats took is nothing compared to all the Money they would be on the hook for if they cut a useless player and still has to pay his 5 remaining years

He's not saying that, he's saying that ALL suspended players that are still under contract when they get suspended, should still be counted against the cap...

They already get the salary relief from not having to pay the player while he's suspended...but, they shouldn't get to double dip, for a player who is under contract past the suspension, by also getting cap relief while he's suspended...I think it should be in the middle...refactor the luxury tax based on all remaining years (including the time he's suspended) but rework the AAV by subtracting the money he forfeited from the remaining total guaranteed portion.

In Arod's case, it would go from about 4 years $82m, to 4 years $61m...Yanks would end up getting about $5m in cap relief for all 4 remaining years...instead of the entire $21m being taken off the books for just next year...

It's a middle ground comprimise...

Yanks shouldn't be "punished" but they also shouldn't benefit from it...

No...because he's still under contract he should still count on their cap next year...

If he was elite this year, I'd think the money and cap implications should be handled the same exact way...it's the only across the board fair method for treating this type of situation that I can think of...

Nope...it doesn't cover suspensions...because by rule the Yankees won't be paying him regardless. Insurance is only covering the injury this year up until he is suspended...

Insurance is why the Yanks have been dragging their feet getting him back, that much is obvious...they don't want to pay him a dime this year, or next..

and the money insurance is paying him this year still counts on the books for the luxury cap...

In the 9th, the acting Mariners manager comes in and wants the righty who was warming up. He points with his left arm to the bullpen and then taps his right arm to signal he wants the righty. The ump says "nope, you made the first motion with your left arm, so you have to bring in the lefty".

was talking about that with a coworker a bit ago

what a wild rule that is lol
