Normally,

Signing a Clean player to a Mega 10 year Contract at age 32 is retarded.

Since you are signing a player thru pretty much his entire decline years.. and only get a 2-3 years of prime. If that

A lesson the Angels are learning

We've been over this...the nickname bitch tits was given to him in NY, by his team mates, before the failed test from 2003 was known about.

The yanks knew, or they have the least competent trainers on the planet...take yer pick...

That being said? They don't deserve to be directly penalized...I don't think a lifetime ban is going to fly...since he's never been suspended...and the whole spirit of the policy is to have incremental punishments...

Not even sure that a full year suspension will go over well with an arbitrator...

Why is braun only getting 65 games, but arod a full year and a half? If someone can explain that to me, I'd lvoe to hear it...makes no sense...

all braun did was deny it, no, and then smear that guy who was telling the truth

he didnt actively try to impede the investigation, did he?

that has to be the difference

but if not for Arod, Braun would absolutely be the scapegoat

The typical ant-Yankee whiners are convinced this is a Yankee thing

It's not, Arod has embarrassed the entire game, obstructed their investigations, and they have evidence it seems that the guy has always been a colossal cheat

No one got off easier than Milwaukee and Braun, not much outcry

Not really. His Reputation is completely destroyed. The Brewers made him the face of that Franchise, and Brewer fans now hate him.

Brewers are more screwed than you realize. They are single smallest MLB Market, but they have been able to draw a good amount of fans. This kinda thing can damage a small Market club...

the fraudkees* play by a different set of rules

They should, but until they lay out all their evidence, we don't know how deep it runs

THIS!

Braun railroads the guy that gets the sample, pretends to be exonerated due to a technicality, and then lies his bloody ass off to everyone...65 games.

Arod? 200+ games? HUH!!??!!

This reeks of Selig finally getting a chance the hammer an icon, he couldn't do anything to Bonds or Clemens...and now Arod is taking the brunt of it...

Not saying it's undeserving, Arod's a 1st class douche-nozzle...but without actually seeing the laundry list of details they have on him, I find it hard to come to terms with how Arod and Braun are being treated differently...

Naive

Forgiveness comes Quick

Let the Brewers be in first place on June 1st next season, let Braun be Braun, and tell me those fans aren't rushing back

Suspending a guy for the remainder if a season already over is basically sending him on vacation

They say it is also because he supposedly tried to buy all the evidence, so that makes things exponentially worse. Good thing he didn't invent a fake company or set up a website to hide his guilt

Exceptions when a guy is going to shatter every conceivable offensive record in the games history, generating millions and millions for your organization

That's fine, but don't blame his decline because of Roids

It would have happened anyways.

What the Yankees did or didn't know is not part of this suspension calculation

For the whole showalter thing, why doesn't the MLB say that ARod doesn't get paid and the Yankees can keep the money for that year, but the amount still applies to the cap/salary/tax/whatever you call it. Then everyone can move on and get down to what is important...making fun of purple lips

The NFL...where raping bitches in bathrooms, beating your wife and killing a team mate in a DUI accident are all acceptable mistakes one can make and have a chance to redeem yourself....but calling a security guard in a drunken fit of stupidity a "nagger"....THAT'S the unforgivable act?

What a fucked up world we live in...what a seriously twisted as fuck, idiotic, dumbass fucking world this is...

I try not be be so defined by the negative, i.e., try so hard to "prove I'm not a racist." That's a losing proposition.

I work in a field that is dominated by people of color and people of alternative lifestyles. I tell every one of them, "Lookit, I'm a product of my upbringing and it is very likely that, at some point, I am going to say something that you will find offensive. When that happens (when, not if), you have my permission to call me out on it. That way, we can have an honest discussion about it, and -- more importantly - if you DON'T call me out on it, I'll keep doing it because I very likely will not have realized that it was offensive."

Now some folks really appreciate this, and they will let me know when I've crossed the line. But the vast majority of them say, "Oh, no...I don't get offended by that kind of stuff. We don't need to talk about anything. You are who you are."

Because EVERYBODY is uncomfortable discussing race. Everybody. It's easier to throw the epithet, or anti-epithet and walk away. Talking about offenses, hurt feelings, insensitivity, that's too fucking hard.

I think you are not focusing enough on the "obstruction" part

For Arod and his "people" to agree to a deal that would keep him out next season, than the obstruction thing must be the huge elephant separating him and Braun

The Brewers are going to be limited because of Braun's Contract.

He is only owed 8 Mil this year, but that Contract Builds. It will be 19 Mil in 2016

Braun himself may have gotten off easy. But the Brewers Org? No, Sorry I don't agree with that

They had planned on paying that money, how is that a penalty? They keep the money, just the contract stays on the books. It isn't a fine "out of the blue".
