I don't think I've "bought into" any spin here. I can just imagine the amount of ridicule this guy is now subjected to (probably not unlike what Jackie Robinson experienced). He could have kept his mouth shut and easily avoided all of that. But it does take balls to come out as gay in the uber-macho world of professional Sports.
