Wisconsin's stats are going to be skewed. Look at this schedule and name a top 30 offense. Top 50?
Indiana may be the best offense on that schedule

Despite Purdue opening a brand new state of the art football facility a few weeks ago, apparently the actual visitors locker room facilities at Ross Ade Stadium suck ass:

From Adam Rittenberg tweet

Here's how a former Big Ten assistant assessed 12 of the visiting locker rooms in the league. It's definitely a problem.

Pathetic = Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State, Maryland, Northwestern

Below Average = Michigan, Ohio State

OK = Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, Penn State

Nice = Minnesota

By elimination, this coach never visited Rutgers or Indiana.

Most of us knew before the season that Washington and Wisconsin had the easiest schedules for 2017. Last year, Washington also had an easy schedule, but in 2016 Wisconsin's schedule was loaded.

Michigan.

Maybe the team who leads the nation in total defense and sacks? Now who could that be? :suds:
michigan has played 4 games. 3 of those games are against teams that are outside of the top 70 in the nation in points scored. The other is against Air Force, who is 53rd despite scoring 62 in week 1 vs. VMI. Meanwhile, Ohio State has faced 4 teams who are all better than Air Force offensively.

Please wait until you've faced an actual offense before crowing yourselves.

They might not play a ranked team the entire year, most likely not until Iowa. Crazy.

Holy shit, that is a joke. That OOC is absurdly weak.
Yeah, I'll give them some credit for scheduling BYU, as they are good a lot of years. But they skipped out on playing tOSU, Michigan, PSU. Lucky year for them, but a single loss and they are probably done from the playoffs.

Who has the best defense in the B1G? Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Penn State?

Michigan is the best defense in the B1G.

Michigan allowed 54 points, 13.5 ppg

Offenses
81. Purdue 2-2 beat Missouri and Ohio
86. Air Force 1-2 beat VMI
112. Florida 2-1 beat Tennessee and Kentucky
116. Cincinnati 2-2 beat Austin Peay and Miami OH

Wisconsin allowed 30 points, 10 ppg

55. Utah State 2-2
75. FAU 1-3
128. BYU 1-3

Minnesota allowed 24 points, 8 ppg

89. Buffalo 2-2 beat colgate and FAU
98. Oregon State 1-3 beat portland state
105. Middle Tennessee 2-2 beat syracuse and bowling green

Penn State allowed 33 ponts, 8.25 ppg
93. Iowa 3-1
106. Akron 1-3
108. PITT 1-3
113. Ga State 1-2

Wisconsin actually has faced two offenses in the top 80. The others have faced offenses ranked 81 or worst. Of course, the defense made those offenses be worse.

If you have beaten two teams that are 1-3, those teams could quite possibly be on the way to conference doormats. throw out Wisconsin and Penn State.

Minnesota's opponents are not exactly beating up big boy opponents.

Based on wins and losses and the opponents for style points, Michigan is the best defense.

Are we going to have this conversation AGAIN? Should I find the thread from last year when you said UM hasn't faced an offense like OSU and then you put up 3 points in regulation?

The most yards UM's defense has given up this year to a team is like 210 or something like that. They lead all of CFB in sacks and that is with a game against AF, where they only attempted a handful of passes all game and went the entire 1sr half without throwing a pass.

And since we are talking about crowning someone -- what teams has faced a 'real offense'? I'd say OSU faced OU, but giving up 500 yards of offense, while the QB made the secondary look foolish doesn't constitute 'playing defense' :behindsofa:

Umm, they hadn't, and we scored 10. Congrats on that one good game, I guess? Don't see what it has to do with this year.

Oklahoma and Indiana offensively >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anyone michigan has faced. It's not even close. Not even remotely close. Until you beat a team that is even slightly decent offensively, your defense is good but unproven. I'd be more than willing to bet that michigan wouldn't hold Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma to 3 points for an entire half, for starters. That alone is more impressive than any defensive showing so far by michigan.

You're full of shit as usual. Mike Weber scored a TD w/ 1:06 remaining in the 3rd quarter. Only your pathetic meeeechegan math would insist Ohio State's offense only put up 3 points in regulation.

So will you finally shut the fuck up or will you continue to make up your own reality?

Im STILL waiting on the link where UM didn't average 40 ppg last year? Funny you haven't found one yet. Let me know when you figure out why.

That being said -- 17 points counted against UM's defense. 17 points was scored by OSU. Only 3 was by their actual offense.

Mike Weber is a RB. On offense.
