That was the latest I was hearing was Denver wants to get to 5 to take Jeanty.

Cannot wait til tomorrow, just so we stop seeing mock drafts posted because everyone is too busy posting that they were wrong for looking for us to take a 3-4 edge linebacker to play 4-3 defensive end. I know Shea McClellan was no great pick, but it did not help for them to push him to get to 275 instead of seeing if he could take over for Urlacher at his 250.

What/who are you talking about? I haven't seen anything about us taking a linebacker at 10.

There was a story that Sean Payton has a history of moving up. But someone else on another board mentioned Denver also.

For what its worth, Detroit last year used the RB on 54% of their play calls (tops in %). They also targeted the RB on 48% of scoring plays (2nd most).

Detroit used the TE sparingly (9%) which was below the league average (for those believing the mocks that they grab a TE).

WCG is trying to guess the Bears big board for the 10th pick:

Have to say, it's pretty close to mine. I might swap out Graham at 4 with trade back at 3, altho trade back is mighty tempting. And I definitely don't have Stewart in my top 10. They're giving a bit more priority to the TEs than I would, but I understand their thinking. All in all, it's fairly close.

I don't like where the chatter is going with our first round draft. No trade ups please-especially not for a RB. There's only 2 players worth trading up for (Carter and Hunter) and the price will be steep...and double please don't take a TE at 10. I could at least UNDERSTAND the RB Jeanty at 10...but a TE at 10 would piss me off to hellfire and tarnation.

Speaking of the RB at 10...If we end up with Jeanty, we will then become the "gold" standard for debates about how you build a team. If we put 3 top 10 picks into QB/WR/RB in a full rebuild of a meh roster and we fall on our face, our demise will be discussed for years whenever teams talk about rebuilds and what should be done in the draft. Conversely, if it works out, we would be that example team that other GM's/Teams go: "See! it worked for them" when they make outside the box picks.

Personally I'd rather be boring and NOT be that team...but it is what it is so we'll see. Just let the LT from LSU drop to us at 10 and let's get boring. I feel like if that happened I would be relieved more than anything at this point.

Above are our top 30 visits. In the past few years our top draftees had visits with us (Last year Caleb/Rome/Kiran). There's a good chance our top 3 picks (10, 39, 41) are all on this list.

any one of the top "Edge" players are 240-250 pound 3-4 outside linebackers. The Dennis Allen 4-3 needs big ends, minimum Hutchinson size of 275.

there is a difference between "Edge" and DE, even though the NFL wants to group them together now.

Thanks for this one. Someone mentioned we need Warren and Kmet because Johnson loves to run 2 tight end sets.

I think about old time Bronco football. Seemed that whoever they put back there, like Davis would need 10 games to get over 1000 yards. Then some other guy took over and did the same thing.

Makes me nostalgic for Bear football, defense, knocking quarterbacks out of the game, and not buying in to todays NFL where you crown a hall of fame QB on draft day.

Also saw a post regarding the most likely player to be traded from each team and the speedster Williams was mentioned from Detroit. I know all these people just post their own videos to act like an expert, but there is only so much money to go around in detroit, and Campbell sure finds a way to run players into the ground.

I've seen moc drafts with the Bears taking Jalen Walker at 10. But, who knows who's making those mock drafts. If Sanders drops out of the top 10, who knows who might be left over as best player available. Now I've heard real good things about Walker but is he a need pick? nope.

Realistically, its still mathematically possible. The numbers i run are for fantasy football purposes - targets and rush attempts divided by the team's play-calls.

Snap % is another animal. They could have 2 TE on the field, but the targets and attempts show they werent getting the ball much.

Yea, while LaPorta did have 60 catches last season (dj moore & Allen had more receptions on the Bear's squad than LaPorta), my saying here about Johnson's love of the 12 man set, is true. He ran that offensive set 2nd or 3rd most in the NFL last season.

Ugh, now I'm seeing drafts where the Bears move up and lose one of the 2 second round picks to do so. >sigh<

We have to remember Poles likes playing rope-a-dope. He could be sneaking out false intentions. I hope we either stand pat or trade back. I really like having those two 2nd round picks, especially being so close to one another. Guess we'll have to hurry up and wait to see how this all plays out.

Here's my potential if scenarios at the 10 spot:

*If we draft an OL, then it's pretty much BAU, likely what's expected.
*If we draft a DL, it's also pretty much BAU, and just about as likely what's expected.
*If we draft a RB (and don't rule out Hampton if Jeanty is already off the board), then this will be Swift's last season with us, as '26 gives the Bears an out, with a $1.333m dead cap hit.
*If we draft a TE, (and don't rule out Loveland if Warren is already off the board), it will likely be Kmet's last season, as the Bears also have an out in '26 for him as well, with $3.2m dead cap hit.
*If we trade back, then anything goes!!!
*if we trade up....grrrrrrrrr.
