Same reason why Kim Anderson was there so long. Alumni get longer ropes.Well, we all knew this a couple of years ago.
Wonder why Missouri took so long on something so obvious.
I'm surprised they actually pulled the trigger. Where does Norvell go to Arky or Mizzou?
I sometimes wonder why the hottest coaches for hire end up where they do. Some seem logical and don't end up there. Others illogical.I'm surprised they actually pulled the trigger. Where does Norvell go to Arky or Mizzou?
Yeah. IMHO Matt Campbell has a lot better chance of winning the Big 12 at ISU than he would the SEC East/West at either Mizzou or Arkie.Don't forget Matt Campbell!

Matt Rhule had a lot of options other than Baylor. I was puzzled when he chose Baylor. Guess he was right and I was wrong.
Rhule must like a challenge. What he did at Temple was impressive. What he's done at Baylor is incredible.

Mizzou is not geographically misplaced if you look at the divisions by an angle from NW to SE and SW to NE. They actually border 2 of the states and 3 of the teams in their Division (Kentucky, Vandy and Tenn.) compared to 1 in the West (Ark.). It's the names of the Divisions that need to be changed not the teams shifted around. Yes, they'd be fine in the West, but there is still a bunch of travel to A&M, LSU and Alabama / Auburn.Who'd want to go there? Serious question. Behind Vandy and Miss State this may be the hardest job in the SEC. In fact, may be harder than Vandy because vandy doesn't have any expectations.
You're geographically misplaced in your own conference. Why Missouri is in the SEC East is beyond me. You don't have a nation wide fan base following so I doubt you get many fans in most of your away games in the East.
Odom and Missouri had nothing to play for this year given their post season bowl ban and he still won some games.
Good luck to this bottom feeder program moving forward, but I don't see who wants this job.

It was almost like he looked at all his offers and said, "What is the most screwed up opportunity I have? I'll take that one." Real head scratcher to me.Rhule must like a challenge. What he did at Temple was impressive. What he's done at Baylor is incredible.
