Gonna be honest. Judging looks only (LOL at that price)they don't totally suck. Granted my expectations were in the sewer for them but still.

I can see a decent number of people buying them just because they are stupidly expensive. Watch them become a new status symbol in hip hop culture.

I dunno. Lots of people think LaVar is lame and will avoid them for that reason. Drake will totally buy them.

I hope so.

I like Lonzo, just don't really want to see Lavar succeed in this particular venture. Let Lonzo earn it first.

I like what Lavar is trying to do, beat the shoe companies at their own game.

That first shoe contract, the athlete gets more or less a flat fee, no part of the shoe sales. He's just trying to eliminate the middle man so to speak.

But I think he's pricing himself out of the market. His tshirts are 60, and some slip ons are 220 that would cost 5 at Walmart, LMAO

These will never become status wear in hip hop unless he pays someone to wear them. That's assuming there aren't quality control issues, because they look cheap and glued together.

You tell 'em Lavar.

The funny part is that many, many, many, many, many of the best basketball players in the country at the college level and below probably cannot afford them.

I'm still waiting on the NCAA to declare his kids ineligible. They could have with Lonzo but opted not to (probably because they didn't want to punish Lonzo, UCLA, or the fans for a parent's behavior.) But at some point, especially if these sneakers are bringing in millions of dollars for the Ball family (and the website explicitly references all three sons by name), the NCAA may need to do something about it.

Theory is the $500 is just to drum up attention (working) and then they'll drop the price.

people will buy them because they can

Same reason why people buy $100 jeans instead of Levi's

Same reason why people buy $1000 watches when their cell phone has a clock in it.

Maybe. But the problem is, with all of the shit that LaVar has talked, including stating that if you can't afford them, you're not a big baller...How do you lower the price without looking like you failed?
