Well, we'd have to pay slightly over $6M just to get him to go away (1/3 of his remaining $19M) and take a cap hit for that turd for 8 years. So there's that.

This year would make the most sense for the buyout though, because by next offseason he'll be 26 years old and subject to the 2/3 buyout price.
