No it just points out that he hasn't declined at all. Came back from his suspension and was great despite playing in a God awful situation.
what are you talking about no decline?

What made him great wasnt his speed as some are talking about. It was his hands. He caught everything.
He averaged less than 80 yds a game.
While that is better than a stick in the eye. It certainly doesnt rank as great!
Now lets go back to what was making him a difference maker. His hands.
his drop percentage went from 1.whatever. Which is absurd. To 5.2%

I agree he is still a decent player for an NFL roster. he is not a bad player.
He isnt that #1 WR that you overpay for.
You like being a stat guy. Everything in his stats were in a decline.
However they look at WR ratings (I am not a ratings guy) every year he was well above 100.
133.6 in 21.
to
86.2 in 22. that is close to a 50 point drop.

He declined plenty last year.

His last two years 572 yds & 717 yds. & now another year older.
I think it would be crazy to to spend big money on a multi-year contract.
Someone want to give him a flyer year to see. Sure, but that only makes him another year older before signing him to a longer contract.
I see him either signing series of one & two year contracts to finish career or longer contract for less (or incentive based) to chase the ring.

As a Lion fan who watched Herman Moore fall of a cliff at 30 and Calvin Johnson stop playing altogether at 30, I wouldn’t give the guy more than a one year deal.
On a similar note I read today that Travis Kelce is going to be 34 this season. I don’t know why I was thinking he was a good 4 years younger than that.

If Hopkins signs with the Eagles he is the greatest WR in the league today. If he signs with the Cowboys he is over paid, over rated and over the hill…

It’s the tight fade haircut.

Lil lady and I had a similar conversation when he hosted SNL.

He averaged less than 80 yards a game? What exactly do you think great WRs are averaging per game? In 9 games he had 64 receptions for 717 yards. 3 of those 9 games were with Colt McCoy at QB. 1 of those 9 games were with Trace McSorley at QB. You expand that to a full season and you're looking at 121 receptions and 1,354 yards. So how the exaclty is less than 80 yards per game bad for a WR?

You need to check your eyes if your eye test doesn't grab you. He was still typical Hopkins last season making some unreal catches and otherwise being unstoppable when a QB throws it in his wide catch radius vacinity.

Hopkins is without a doubt a top 10 WR in the NFL and is in all likelihood a top 5 WR in the NFL still and we are going to see that whenever he chooses his team for this year. He's going to do a 1 year deal with a great QB and have a phenomenal year and then he is going to get a huge deal next FA.

Honestly I'm thankful the Cowboys traded for Cooks instead of trading for Hopkins or just waiting for Hopkins to be released and then signing him. Hopkins would instantly be the best WR on the Cowboys.

Well, let me get out ahead of this.

Would rather the Eagles use the 15-16 mil left in cap to sign a vet at LB and at safety if they can swing it.

No doubt. But as an Eagles fan I carry with me an association with some of the dumbest mother fuckers who post here so I’m not going to miss out on an opportunity to distance myself from them haha.

I suspect Hopkins gets a 2 year $30M contract. When looking at his stats last year, remember he only played 9 games and for a not great offense. If he had that same per game catch rate he would have had 120 catches and almost 1,400 yards. But, I agree he has slowed down a little and wouldn't want my team to give him that much money because of our team makeup and how much we already dedicated to the WR spot. I do think on a team that needs a top 2 WR (Bills, Giants, Chiefs, etc) he could have a really big, positive impact.

From who though? Most teams don’t have that much cap space left?

The structure would likely be backloaded and perhaps coincide with a restructure. I suspect more than half of the teams could easily fit him. For example, a Chris Jones extension would allow KC to fit him.

Two things really;

1) It's dumb when people don't watch the shitty teams and then try to say all their players suck.

2) It's dumb when people forget a guy didn't play for 6 games and just look at his season long stats.

Hopkins has been one of my favorite receivers since he was in college. Love his game. Some idiots always said he was too slow. Are they the same idiots as now? I do not know, nor do I care, but their stupid ass opinion should be checked against the facts, of which I have produced several.
