I'd like to see the Lakers somehow land Lebron just because of the meltdown that Heat fans and certain Lebroniacs would have.

Jim Doors hasn't shown up yet LALakersboy but I am sure it won't be long. TJF12, I suspect you and CL67 would get a kick out of Lebron opting out but I think you both would be smiling up a storm if he did indeed sign with the Lakers.

I'd be smiling up a storm because I wouldn't mind seeing the Lakers get Lebron AND as an added bonus, Heat fans would meltdown.

CL, on the other hand, would only get joy from the Heat fan meltdown. He's been pretty consistent in his anti-Lebron stance. He'd probably have to re-read all of the Heat fan meltdown posts before every Lakers game to make it bearable for him.

Looks like the Sixers are on the move to gain the number one overall pick and Swaggy P is opting out of his player option. The Bleacher Report is reporting Swaggy wants to still sign with the Lakers but he is getting impatient and is now stating the Lakers are dissing him. He states in the article that the Lakers are not moving fast enough and he wants to see what max deal he get on the open market.

If the Sixers do get the number overall pick, that changes things. The trade for the #7 pick that has been rumored with Philly that would include Steve Nash is gaining momentum again. Things could get interesting starting Thursday evening.

Maybe Lebron is on the way to LA afterall. Things are awfully secretive these days in LA. No mention of a coach, nothing out of Mitch, short buss, or Kobe about LeBron or Carmelo or even Pau, and nothing much about that #7 pick. Wow.

I like that nothing is coming from the Lakers. That's how it was with Dr. Buss and Jerry West, they always kept things like draft picks, trades and FA signings quiet. Considering that Mitch learned from both of them, it might be a good sign.

Not surprised in the least. With the season he had, he's earned more. It's smart of him to opt out as he was only scheduled to make $1.2million next year. He has also said that he'd give the Lakers a "hometown discount". So, he'll test free agency, take those bids to the Lakers and then it will be a matter of how much of a discount he's willing to give vs. how much the Lakers are willing to pay.

Also, I think you might be reading a little too much into the comment about the Lakers dissing him. To me, that looks more like Swaggy P being Swaggy P. I think he's smart enough to know that the Lakers are taking their time and trying to make sure that they do everything right.

Personally guys, I want LeBron, not Melo. The NBA isn't like it used to be. No more loyalty, no more Larry Birds, or Magics.

The other thing I've seen is MWC and Kyle Lowry? What's the scoop on those two? Can't really find much that isn't "speculation". Could we really get MWC for the #7 (I think I saw Nash thrown in there as well) if the Sixers draft Exum?
