That Sixers deal isn't a home run. It's more like a double. I'm not even sure how it makes any sense at all for the Sixers. It's not like they need Nash's expiring, they've got cap room. Half their team are/will be on rookie salaries. As for LA, we do need starter level players. We basically trotted out an entire roster full bench guys all of last year. And MCW and Young are starter level talents. I'm just not sold on MCW having as high of upside. His numbers are inflated because that Sixers team literally had no other options at all. From seeing him in college and in the NBA, I still feel like his ceiling is just quality starter that might possibly flirt with an all star game or two (type of player like Andre Miller, Mike Conley, etc). Pretty solid deal to get two starters.

But I also like Randolph at #7 (where a lot of projections have him) and think his ceiling is a lot higher than both Young and MCW. We've got cap room to sign other starts too. So while the trade might be a double, I think drafting Randolph alone could be a double as well.

Drafting Randolph ??

Do you understand expiring contracts? That is what Nash would be. That is your dumb Philadelphia radio 97.5 talking. You would have the 3,7,10 pick.

See this is what the FCC should be worrying about
Forget about which station is saying the f-word the FCC should be cracking down on stations that spout this nonsense

I would seriously hate it if the Sixers did that deal

Perhaps they didn't learn anything from trading for Andrew Bynum and years ago, giving Chamberlain away for next to nothing.

Been some talk of klay Thompson to lakers for 7th pick. Could be part of potential deal sending kevin love to golden st. Kinda mixed on Thompson from what little i have seen of him. Great shooter. Not sure he does anything else above average doesn't strike me as guy who gets to basket very often

The latest has the Lakers in talks with the Golden State Warriors for the 7th pick in exchange for Clay Thompson as a part of a three team deal for Kevin Love. The Lakers are intrigued by the anticipated fall of Embiid since the revelation that his navicular bone fracture in his foot plus his back problems are going to allow him to fall to the Lakers because of a 4-6 month (at least) rehab period. They are looking into a number of angles. Here is the link: Report: Lakers in talks to acquire Klay Thompson as part of Kevin Love deal | FOX Sports on MSN

Is this rumor just straight up Klay Thompson for the 7th pick? That's all we get? He's a good shooter, but not 7th overall worthy. That's horrible.

The article does not state exactly what is going to be involved except for Thompson. The Lakers are also intrigued with the possibility of Embiid falling to them at 7 as well, so nothing is set in stone.

The deal with the Sixers raises the possibility that the Lakers are actively trying to rid themselves of the Nash nightmare. I guess his determination to play to take the salary money has worn thin with the Lakers because it has become evident to everyone else but Nash that his body is just plain done.

Granted the Lakers should have encouraged him to retire last year and maybe they did at one point. Nash has already stated he is going to take the money because the contract is, well a contract. So, the lakers are trying to rid themselves of the last vestige of the Howard/Nash experiment.

Man if they did that deal with the Warriors, y'all would have to talk me off the ledge. Klay is one of the best shooters in the league, but he is NOT worth the 7th pick. As for the Philly trade, I have no idea. I'm sold on Thad young being a SOLID contributor in the rotation, but I'm not sure about MCW however. How much of it was skill, and how much of it was because he played on that team and dominated the ball for the most part? I believe he's a very decent player with room to grow, just not the phenomenon that he was made out to be this year. Wild put it best when he said that this would be a double instead of a home run. I don't quite know what to make of this yet, there are too many rumors coming out...these 2 rumors, another rumor had the Lakers locked in on taking Vonleh, Randle, or smart, and another one had them trading down in the draft

Klay is only worth it if they can get Lebron(and re-sign Pau. Yes the ultimate pipe dream). Otherwise I would much rather have the 7th pick.

As for the Sixers deal kinda makes me wonder why the Sixers would give up the ROY for the 7th pick. I feel like whoever the Lakers pick at 7 will be better then MCW. I like MCW and Young as players but they don't move the needle too much for me. It would just make them a decent team.

The 7th pick for Thompson is not a good deal for the Lakers. You have to get more than that. I hope they don't do that.

Snowdog, I have been thinking the same thing. I think so. Some bastard child Dr. Buss had with a housekeeper that nobody knows about maybe. They sure as hell think the same way and come up with the damnedest ideas!!

They have no choice but to get more back. Under the CBA, they cannot trade this years 1st round pick without receiving one back in return. Essentially, the trade would have to Thompson and either GSW or Minny's 1st round pick for the #7 pick.

With the way this draft is starting to shape up, Thompson plus one of the later first round picks may not be such a bad idea.
