Porzingis likely gone....maybe Holiday also.

Brown could be traded if they want to tear it down but I doubt it. I think the first 2 are more likely
I don’t think they can get rid of Brown with Tatum out. I do think Holiday and Porzingus are gone. They have to decide something on White as well, he still has value.

True.

They prolly retool around Tatum and Brown going forward.

They would have to throw in a TON for anyone to take on Holiday at this point. He turns 35 in less than a month, looked like a JAG during this postseason and is still owed $100M.

Few competitive teams can fit $35M a year for the next 3 years into their books well. And teams that can fit him into their books, dont need an old PG because they arent just an old PG away from being competitive.

the Lakers are done. LeBron just keeps getting older and they have no cap room. It looks like from media reports that the Lakers are going to re-sign LeBron to a 2 year 105 million dollar contract which will just push off further any type of real contention from the Lakers. Once LeBron inks that contract it guarantees the Lakers winning nothing for AT LEAST 2 more years.

a big difference between the Cavs.

One team is still on the way up- one is clearly still on the way down.

Big difference agreed, but not just in the way you note. Lakers have actually won more recently and just added a generational superstar that they can now use the offseason to better mold their roster around. Nobody knows what Lebron will sign for, it's all speculation at this point. He's said nothing publicly.

It's humorous that you continue to hate on the one player that got your franchise it's only championship.

your on the verge of giving LeBron another Kobe Sympathy contract to stay relevant in the media while knowing it will not help them win- short term or long term.

Good luck!

Sympathy contract? Which player on your beloved Cavs managed 24/8/8 last season? Lebron scored more than your best scorer, had more assists than your best passer, and wasn't far off in rebounds from your two bigs. AT AGE 40.

It's not that I love Joe Mazzulla...

... but to pin all the blame on him is likely unfair. This iteration of the C's underachieved multiple times before he ever became the HC.

And the Tatum injury and mystery Porzingis sickness are tough to pin on him, too.

Don't leave out Brown, who apparently was playing through a meniscus tear. Injuries aided them last year and eliminated them this year. A bit of karma evening things out perhaps?

They won't be easy moves. Porzingus is a walking bruise and Jrue is getting up there, with both being well paid already. I would love a player like Jrue for the Lakers but he's too expensive.

You can get him trading very little player wise

It’s mostly about draft capital

3 years 100M+ for a 35 year old player. How much draft capital is that going to cost that makes sense to both teams? The pick hording teams could make it work, but it would be a lot tougher for more veteran teams.
