I just don’t think you can trade a young superstar, even if he isn’t what he could be.
I already said it was a bad trade LA won. Setting aside their cheapness (not wanting to pay Luka) which is also a factor, I'm just emphasizing that for a couple years a healthy AD and Kyrie and their bigs would make them a very good team.

They coulda got more if they didn't need to dump him because they were cheap lol...Cuban leaves and it all goes to shit LOL

Hell maybe he bailed because this idea started being talked about and he didn't want to be there for it

Not like he got tossed in the 1st quarter.

He played 29 minutes which is more than he gets in some blowout games.

I think it is fair game.
All of the players know he is the best defender in the league. That’s what matters but he better at least make all defensive team this season.

He is certainly on the short list of top perimeter defenders.

SGA honestly makes a better DPOY candidate though, IMO, because he posts more defensive stats and has the offense to go with it.

Perimeter Defensive specialists like Dort never get those accolades.

You have to really get into the numbers with Dort. He leads the league in drawn fouls on the defensive end by a large margin. But the biggest thing you have to do is listen to the players. Luka for instance raves about Dort being the toughest defender he sees. If he isn’t first team all defense it’s time to quit having that accolade because one of the best defensive teams in the history of the league starts with him.

Ive never said he wasn't the second best. But ANY criticism of LeBron, after he CLEARLY shit the bed last night, the criticism was fair...and here comes his slobbering band of slurpers with the hater talk
You're making one stretch coming off a groin injury at age 40 as evidence that he's soft? You're better than that....unless you have an agenda.

Yep

Bruce Bowen, Tony Allen. Never a defensive player of the year award. Generally goes to bigs

Lebron about to play the most games ever but hes soft...lol. no logic whatsoever.

MJ takes off damn near 5 seasons and hes a God in the eyes of his homers.

Sort of like nobody was expecting Nico to dump Doncic into Pelinka's lap outta of nowhere.

There was a long game involved there that they remarkably were able to keep quiet. Still, it had to be a shock that it did actually come to fruition.

As far as the Grizz go, the story I've read is that Morant complained about his offense. Oddly enough, watching them last night I thought their offense functioned better under Pippen. Morant too often is jumping and trying to pass late.

To me, the stupidity wasn't in the trade itself, but the ownership decision to intend to trade Luka while also keeping it quiet to avoid players and fans from revolting. That last part clearly didn't work lol.

Ownership really needs to have only a broad involvement and have a trusted PBO and GM combo to make the basketball decisions. It seems the guys that took over decided to make their stamp on the franchise and thought they were making a genius move. Clearly, they were ill-advised.

Defensive stats aren't a great gauge IMO unless you go deeper into stats that many old school people cringe at. Stats like blocks (often from helping off your own man) and steals (playing passing lanes and gambling) aren't the best indications IMO.

Something wrong with that, but Dort is going to end up being a better defender than either of those guys. Somehow Smart won it, he’s not Dort.
