It is strange. Lebron always fought through contact, even though he attacked the rim a ton he didn’t get the benefit of the refs. It is strange some guys do and some guys don’t. Some are better at selling it

I’m not sure anyone has ever won 2 in a row. I would think the Cleveland coach or pistons coach are the front runners at this point.

Kind of. It's may be a similar approach to what the Seahawks used when they had the Legion of Boom defense. It's the "they can't call everything" approach.

They got called for a lot of PI/defensive holding, but they got away with more because they established a style of play.

Maybe the Thunder have decided to play a more physical style on defense?

What the Thunder do is they just don’t let up, it’s every play the entire game. People like Dort, Caruso and Wallace are just flat out pests.

They got called for a lot of PI/defensive holding, but they got away with more because they established a style of play.

Some teams can get away with being more handsy…I don’t know why it is only some. It just baffles me when I see teams trying to play great defense but they get called for touch foul. Other teams can be handsy and grab. I venture to say in the playoffs they allow more of that so it might balance out some.

I think this is the point Finch was trying to make but it was terrible timing.

That's why I think it could be about establishing a style of play. Some teams emphasize a more physical or "handsy" style of play. The refs can't call everything so they call the most obvious fouls. That means there's still a good amount that the team gets away with.

A team that plays a less physical or "handsy" style doesn't get away with it as much because it's a noticeable change.

The problem with his point is even if okc is more physical, the refs are calling it as otherwise they wouldn’t be 3rd in opponent free throws per game so not like they getting a free pass

Of course they are. The Legion of Boom got called for a lot of PI/defensive holding, but they got away with enough that it was worth the trade off. Same may be true for OKC.

Yeah like I said earlier, weird timing. Some things must have pissed him off in the game and he let boil over into the postgame. The team just won a game with a historic comeback, enjoy it.

They definitely allow more physical play in the playoffs we saw that last year. Scoring was down 8 pts a team and the lowest free throws attempt totals ever.

Hard to tell at this point. Playoffs really only matter for the team and those players so hard to judge now. It does seem like a harmless move for GS even if they don't win though.
