Damn....ummm okay?

Not sure how I feel right now about this honestly....nor am I really that concerned currently.

Let's see how the roster shakes out +/or improves regarding bench depth, and who is eventually picked to take the wheel.

But what did they look like the decade before he got there? This team had no depth. Pacers did

Unfortunately Dolan fired Donahue a very good GM to bring in a total idiot, isiah Thomas, who effed the org for many years to come

We now have another good GM who’s puttin things together..

Imo , we’re 1 player away and a more strategic coach to win it all

Pasta right again
Pffft.
That dude is just an alarmist and a knee jerk reactionary.

Besides....It wasn't too hard to predict the team would change course in a different direction if they failed to reach their goal.
The front office didn't upgrade the bench that eventually became their downfall, which sealed his fate.

Thibs basically was fired because players don't get fired...but someone needed to be a fall guy.

It's your team, you know more about them than I do
From the outside looking in...I think you had the coach, you just needed another player

Thibs only attribute was playin his starters for more minutes then the rest of the league

You and I could do that

He was out coached during this last series, and that sealed it.

That's really unfair. The Knicks sucked ass till he got there. They lost to a Pacers team that was simply better than they were, after beating a Boston team...that was better than they were. The Knicks have nowhere near as much talent as Boston. Thibs coached his ass off

This has nothing to do with being fair

The FACTS are this

The Knicks organization was in complete disarray in that time .

They had good draft picks that they traded away for former all stars who were passed their prime.. example Amere Stoudmire

They traded for all power forwards. For example. Randle and bugeyed portis

They were all over the place, add 3 to 4 coaches during this time that were not a fit

They are now finally headed in right direction, but still have the win it all mentally, quick result .

Something we fans have to deal with

Again, I like thibs, he is a good coach that will continue to coach, it was time to move on

I'd like to revisit next year to see if you're right

He really did.

The mistake was trading so much for Bridges....

That can’t be possible.

Because it was like 6 years ago when you started posting here regularly.

We all told you the Knicks had a deeply flawed roster, but you claimed their lack of success was on the head coach not teaching fundamentals and getting players to compete.

Well fast forward to the present.

The roster isn’t in total disarray, but it also is still not on the level of the top tier teams. And Thibs brings precisely what you asked for 6 years ago.

A coach who preaches defense, gets max effort from players and a team that wins more than its share of games.

This is BS

Stop putting words in my mouth

I said no excuse for a flawed roster not stress fundamentals to be at least competitive.

If Thibs stressed fundamentals, why was Robinson such a terrible free throw shooter, why so many turnovers in the biggest series of the year ?

You can’t blame the coach for an NBA player being a bad free throw shooter.

That is quite possibly your worst take you have made here. And there have been a lot of bad ones.

Some athletes lack fine motor to be a good shooter. I believe Mitchell Robinson is most likely one of those. He could be better yes. But it isn’t Thibs fault. He needs to shoot 1000 FTs a day in his own time. And even then I doubt he would be a good free throw shooter.

On the other side of the spectrum, guys like Curry (who has obviously put a ton of time into his shot) also have extraordinary hand eye coordination.
