And lastly, had I been at least 4 inches taller, and my time, would have definitely gone far…. I was very athletic, had euro step before most knew what it was , my hang time was not the norm, had a very very good shot, quick lateral movement , scored 40 in a high school game when there was no 3. And the competition I played against, with the nut coach we had, was dam good .

Because the offensive player knows where he is going and the defender must react.

A supremely skilled offensive player gets his shot when he wants to against 1 on 1.

Now a great defender can sometimes force a tougher shot, but still not winning that battle.

Only way you can truly stop a great offensive player is with a team concept focused on taking that guy away.
