Depends I think.

More pressure for the favorites in round 1 because of expectations. I think that is what got Lillard yesterday.

More pressure for everyone else in the Finals because you are so close to the crown.

Fair opinion but disagree. It's one shot to advance and sometimes a guy can have an off night (or 2 minutes). I think those in the game who are legit all stars (which in this case Garland is) all feel like they can win, but I think pressure if there is any comes off some when they make the final 3. IMO, they'd consider it a major disappointment or maybe even an embarrassment not to get out of first round.

He has competed 6 times and won it 2X (last time he entered was 1 in 2021) so your guess is off. Came in 2nd a few times and missed 2nd round 1 time.

At this rate he'd need to have entered 18 times to win it 6.

I have done quite a few 3 point contests before. Men’s league I used to play in did NBA style 3 point contest every year.

First round has margin for error. You don’t have to beat everyone, just have to beat 5/8. And there will always be a couple who do very poorly.

Finals?

Have to beat everyone left. Less margin for error. More pressure.

Dame was the only one in that field who should have expected to advance. No shame in missing out unless you are the guy who really tanks it (Cade, Powell and Cam).

It sucks for sure.

Is what it is. Would rather have a 50% chance of watching LeBron play than a 100% chance of watching Norm Powell play.
