Luka and LeBron are not complimentary and neither plays defense. But I'm one of the few pointing this out.

Overstatement and many are pointing that out. You could argue Reaves and Lebron share that same issue without Luka, so it's still an improvement if Reaves is moved to fill a different need (defensive 2 or 5).

I meant expiring contracts and picks

God I suck

Their expirings are all vet mins so you'd have to stack them up, which likely makes the other team waive players. Not ideal, but possible.

Only if they can't keep Ant. Otherwise, that's his prime.

Do you really think they are going to keep Ant based on some of the other moves they have made?

I would be surprised.

That’s why I hate people talking about these picks 5 plus years down the road. Nobody knows what teams will be good/bad in 2031

Precisely why they are valuable.

A pick in the 20s is only worth so much.

Jump up in the top 4 with an unprotected future pick?

Could be a franchise changer

Grape is the only true jelly they make. Thought that was common knowledge.
You guys are queers.

Avocado toast of course with butter
That's why I don't get into ripping GM's until after a deal has been done and rarely complain about deals that aren't made. We don't know what they know and we don't know the ins and outs of any discussions.

During the summer, everyone was yelling for Pelinka to make a move(s) using those 2 first rounders and wanted him fired when we started the season with no changes.

As, I believe, @shopson67 said...Imagine if they'd used those firsts...likely no Luka. Maybe the Lakers would have gotten a good player(s)...but top 5 in the league like Luka?
tbf he was gifted Luka. Dallas offered Luka to him. He was asking to trade AD.

If they don't, they will have lots of assets from moving him (to the Lakers lol). Players rarely get lost for nothing.

Until moves are made they are going to be a bad defensive team. AD was so key to their defense and one of the elite defenders in the league. If they don’t make moves, they have no chance this year. Assuming more moves will be made

You also have to hope that future draft is actually a good one.

Of course. The choices are either improve the defense or really lean into an all offense roster. Currently their only defenders are DFS, Reddish (when JJ even lets him on the court) and undersized Gabe. So, DFS.

What Laker fans are complaining lol? The trade just leaves more work to do, as their former trade needs are now magnified, giving up guard defense and a big on top of their previous needs.

It's as if other fanbases need to dump on Lakers fans somehow even when the team makes a massively positive move, lol.
If you’re gonna be a Lakers fan you can’t cry about everyone else hating you. It goes with the territory just like being a Yankees or Cowboys fan

I would lose my fucking mind if the Lakers somehow managed to get Jonas Valančiūnas.

Might even be worth their last remaining first round pick.

Kleiber Vincent and rui all become expiring this summer

Yes and no.

According to reports, the Mavs have wanted AD for years and have contacted Pelinka several times over the years about AD, but Rob always insisted on getting Luka.

So, while Dallas made the call, it was Rob's refusal to back off from his Luka demand that led to this.

Meh, the problem "post bubble" was he was still a pretty green GM who listened to his 2 stars when they insisted on a player that everyone else (including Pelinka) knew was a bad fit and ended up managing to be worse than most thought.

But that’s literally part of the job

To manage that and not do dumb shit

That trade and then picking tht over Caruso buried them

Caruso was always destined to end back up with Daigneault and the Thunder.
