Is Donovan Mitchell the best player?

I don’t think I agree with that anymore.

Mobley and Garland IMO.
He is considered the best player around the league is all I mean.

Watching the team this year Garland has been the best.
Mobley has been the most important.

i felt like the Cavs could have a hiccup today after last nights game- glad to see they were able to get it together, rally and take the W.

Donovan is still the best. It is getting a lot closer- but I think Donovan makes it go in a lot of ways. There is a reason they are the #1 offense and it isnt Mobley.

Had the Heat not choked Monday in the 4th vs Sac, they would be 3-0 on this 6 game western roadie

Portland next then the 2 LA teams

Beat Portland and find a way to split the 2 vs Clippers and Lakers

4-2 trip would be good

It seems that a new era is starting in the NBA- been reading a lot of articles- and they talk about how the era of player empowerment and super teams, team ups, etc. is coming to an end.

It looks like the expirements in Philly, LAC and Phoenix are failing.

teams like the Cavs, Thunder, Magic, Grizz, Rockets are all on the way up.

A lot of the older guard is starting to really get up there age wise-- the Durant/LeBron/Steph/Butler/Paul/Beal/Leonard/George etc. era is coming to an end- just like the Kobe/Duncan/Dirk/Nash/Pierce/KG/Allen etc. era came to an end.

There are really no hard, specific dates you can point to for the end of each era, but it feels like this is the year where the era of the guys that have been around a long time is ending. For the first time in what seems like forever- none of those guys are on teams that anyone thinks has a top 5 shot at the finals.

Giannis almost fills like the bridge between the eras- kind of caught in between.

The East isn’t brutal at all.

Cleveland, Boston and the Knicks.

Milwaukee with a puncher’s chance if they are healthy and hot at the right time.

And really it is Cleveland and Boston
3 out of the 4 best teams in are in the East.

Orlando, when healthy might be anywhere from 5-7. Milwaukee is really good.

I would easily take the East playoff teams vs. the West.

BOS
CLE
NYK
ORL
MIL

is much better than:

OKC
HOU
MEM
DEN
DAL

OKC is really the only team in the West that would be a huge favorite in the playoffs vs. another team for the most part- and htat is with the Sixers just totally losing the plot.

I wonder what a Sixers vs. Hou playoff series, if the Sixers were healthy, the odds would be. Or even the Heat- who are a gritty team, or Indiana.

I would not at all be truly scared in a series for the Cavs against anyone in the West beside OKC. I will say- Denver and Dallas would not be easy series- but id much rather play them than the Knicks

if I am going tiers- and assuming guys that are due to get healthy- do get healthy

Tier 1
BOS
CLE
OKC

Tier 2
Knicks

Tier 3
Denver
Milwaukee
Orlando
Dallas
Houston

Tier 4
LAL
MIN
PHI
IND

(I almost put Miami in tier 4- but without Butler- its hard to imagine them having the guns to win a playoff series)

yah you might be right. I just dont like their roster construction. They just have so little firepower in the front court- now you prob. dont need a lot with Kyrie and Luka in the back court- but their front court is very unimpressive to me. If they got a legit front court player I would feel better about them.

They are one of those teams that have guys that dont get a lot of fanfare that play well and seem to be better than the sum part of the roster.
