Beal seemingly embraced his role off the bench.....balled out last night.

Not sure what the requirements (% of games off the bench) are but if he stays there the rest of the season.....he going to get 6 man of the year.

Sure, one strong game is clearly projectable for the rest of the season for an oft-injured player.

He's a starting caliber player.....coming off the bench? Not a reach to think he could be the 6th man of the year, provided he stays healthy.....obviously.

He has to play at least 65 games and come off the bench for more than he starts.

He has already missed 10 of the 17 games allowed to miss, and started 23 of 24 games.

First, I would bet against Beal playing 65 games.

Second, even if Beal stays healthy and plays well in his role, someone is likely to miss time and Beal likely to start more games.

Pretty unlikely he qualifies even if he plays well enough to get it.

For what, maybe 70% of the remaining games?. He's played 24 of 34 thus far, can only miss 7 more games before he's no longer eligible. At his current rate, he'll only play 57.

Stay focused.....it was not a Cav fan who said we were a dynasty or on verge of one. Happen to agree it's premature (as I'm guessing most Cavs fans think)

Offer to help you with comprehension is still there when needed.

Quite certain that was not a serious comment.

Really can only be 1 dynasty at a time unless you think the Cavs and Thunder are going to dominate the league for the next 7-8 years and split titles like the Celtics and Lakers did in the 80s.

I don’t think that is possible.

I didn't chase the discussion all the way back. The post I responded to was in response to a Cavs fan post. Who else is going to claim a dynasty before even being close to a finals appearance once lol? The Lakers are more of a dynasty at this point with a chip and a WCF appearance over the last 4 years, and no Lakers fan is claiming dynasty (other than over the entire history of the NBA of course).

Maybe at least one of them should get there first, let alone win.

I didn't think it was serious either and don't think any Cavs fans thought it was.

what Cav fan said the Cavs are on verge of a dynasty?

I'm pretty sure Trojan mentioned one for Cavs/Thunder but was not serious.....I did say I'd be down with it. Not sure what else you saw that made you cry homer.

and, sure, we have homers here....but this was not a reflection.

I love that he doesn't have a NTC lol.

A team could use him to clear a meh contract
He has a chance to be a totally unrestricted free agent but he chooses to try to get a contract based on what he was instead of what he could show he is the rest of the year. I can’t see any other way to look at it.

He's not getting some major deal. He is 36 Next season and his name isn't lebron James. And even lebron has been on 1 and 2 year deals for like 6 years

If he's wanting some 4 year max deal He's fucking lost it.

Considering Memphis jumped up in the betting odds and then Haynes specifically named Memphis as a team Jimmy won't go to, that tells me a deal was very close to being done.

Depending on the parameters of the deal, I'd call Jimmy's bluff and do it anyway if I'm Memphis. Let's say its just Smart/Kennard/Clarke and a pick. Smart and Kennard are expiring anyway, probably not bringing them back. If the pick has lottery protections, you're spending that for a chance on a Kawhi in Toronto type rental to win the championship this year. If he leaves, you're out a pick (15 thru 30) but have lots of cap space to fill in the pieces you need. Now if they think they can get Cam Johnson, it'd be best to go down that path now

You could be right
Not certain, but either way never liked them in baseball as you know either the guy will kill it and leave or suck and will have to pay him another year to suck.

Well, at least for Tribe he will leave if he kills it.....other teams may actually pay to retain.
