That's what makes him doing this now so dumb. His preferred teams are all contenders or near contenders that could be put over the top by adding him. Problem is, they would have to give up so much to get him...are they really going to be better enough with him to contend?

And that would be with Miami taking the minimum it would take to get the deal done...they're likely to want more than that. Especially if they're taking back any non-expiring contracts.
Riley ain't going to destroy the Heat just to bend to the demands of a player who clearly has shot himself in the foot. Nobody is going to trade for an aging Butler with his baggage.

Wow! The Cavs are about to be 31-4. This is not being discussed enough. Honestly Cav's fans, did you see this coming??

Celtics held under 100 for the first time, held to 20 % shooting in the 2nd half. 16th time Thunder have held a team under 100, 16-0 in those games. Unbeaten against the East, sets up a big one in Cleveland Wednesday.
glad OKC got the win- if the Cavs can force a Knicks/Celtics matchup it would be nice.

Not saying the Cavs would walk to the conference finals even without playing those 2- they surely wont- but it would be nice if they only had to play one of them, and had home court

Did someone say 31-4?

10-0 vs the West
pretty awesome.

the thing this team needs to learn more than anything else is toughness- its what has gotten them in past years- the grit that it takes to win in the playoffs. They are confident and playing awesome right now and Garland and Mobley are getting better. I hope Allen steps up and is tough when it really counts.

Atkinson was a great hire and a perfect fit. Huge upgrade at head coach. He has really done a good job managing the bench too.

I love that guys like Mitchell are only playing 31-32 minutes a night in order to stay healthy.

Mobley still isnt shooting many threes- less than 2 a game--- but is at 43.5% from 3. If down the road that guy can reliably shoot a 3 he becomes a PROBLEM. He is already one of the best defensive players in the league, can play unselfishly, can score when they need it.

Atkinson is doing the most important job he could have been hired to do- help Evan Mobley develop. Ya dont hear many people saying Scottie Barnes is better anymore. lol.

Thunder are 11-0 against the east. Something has to give Wednesday.
Yes, OKC needs to be acknowledged as well for the amazing season they are having. They are a little less of a surprise because they were very good last year too, but back to back road wins over NY and BOs is impressive and a 15 game win streak. Well done, OKC, well done.

Butler is declining anyway- he is 35 and has as much miles as anyone in the league not named LeBron on his odometer- he misses a lot of time every year. He steps up in the playoffs- but for Jimmy it always seems like its been about him for his entire career.

Yes we did
no one predicted the Cavs to be on a 70 win pace like they are right now.

If they get to 65 wins I think they will be ecstatic. That would be 17 losses. 47 games left. 65 wins would mean going something like 34-13 the rest of the way to get to 65 wins- which would def. not be easy.

you think they go at least 34-13 the rest of the way for 65 wins? I think its possible but id put it under 50%. Injuries happen- they have had a fairly unbalanced schedule on the easier side thus far...its hard to get to 65 wins.

Cavs and Thunder both on track to win over 70 games. Very doubtful for either but I would wager it’s been quite a while since 2 teams got off to starts like this.
When the W’s won 73, everyone forgets the Spurs bc they lost to OKC in Round 2 but they still went 67-15.

In the end, nobody will remember if you don’t win it all but it would be a huge step in the right direction getting to the Finals for both teams.
