Well I guess yeah it counts as a scheduled game but no not on that date. It’s just one of those things that adds a little if you are successful, certainly not banner worthy. It’s a money grab but it’s certainly better than giving your best hitter 150 extra at bats.

Nope. The way it would work is let's say your #8 hitter is up when you are trailing 3-2 in the 7th inning and there's 2 men on. You would be able to switch your #3 hitter with your #8 hitter just that one time. So your #3 hitter doesn't get any more at bats, he just hits a little earlier. When his spot comes up the #8 hitter is now hitting 3rd, and the #3 guy is hitting 8th. No extra ABs.
You are not seeing the article I saw, all options are on the table and one of them is as I am describing. I think there has already been enough blowback it’s not happening. Even what you are describing could absolutely be an extra at bat.
The blowback is over the dumber proposals. The idea I'm expounding is one they are contemplating and has a lot less reason to oppose it.
