Making the playoffs with no real hope for advancement is only valuable for younger upcoming teams. Otherwise, it's just hurting your draft position and putting more mileage and injury risk on your aging players.
Not if you save them for the end of the year. They'll be more healthy than everyone else.

1. Slip into the playoffs
2. Warm up in round 1
3. Contend

Getting blown out with Maxey not playing does not look good for them. Already playing in a huge deficit. More games = more miles on old, tired legs. No certainty people won’t get injured again or load management. The fact they have little depth isn’t helping them either

What a mess

The first 50 games don't really matter. Don't blame me. Don't blame the Sixers. Blame the league for being more about entertainment than basketball.

They do matter if you are well below .500

Nuggets are 7 and 5 and we go Jokic?
His numbers are INSANE and he is carrying his team. Shooting a career high in 3’s at 57%. Leading the NBA in rebounds and assists while averaging 30 ppg. I can’t argue he isn’t the frontrunner.

Jokic’s numbers are even better and it’s not like his team is .500. Would likely need 50+ wins to get it though imo

...and that has worked so often in the past? How many late seeds have won?

Steals is gambling as much or more than playing defense.

I agree but I would suggest actually watching him. He is a damn good on the ball defender as well not just some guy who gambles and only get steals

Jokic: 29.7 ppg on 56.3/56.4/84.3 shooting, 13.7 reb, 11.7 ast, 1 blk, 1.7 stl, 4.1 TO
AD: 31.1 ppg on 56.1/42.9/79.8 shooting, 11.2 reb, 2.6 ast, 2 blk, 1.3 stl, 2.3 TO (and playing DPOY level defense)

It's basically assists vs defense, which do you find more valuable. Neither is going to continue shooting 3s at their current rates.

Jokic may be the leader for now, but AD isn't far behind. Also, voters have already had Jokic fatique before.
