Latter depends on what Lebron wanted in order to come here.

A healthy embiid is Hakeem level 1-1

Not quite wemby or Shaq level prospect

But at least that Zion tier of franchise guys

I just don’t see CLE giving him up

Might be right IF they were confident he'd be healthy. Pretty sure he was about to miss his second season at the time we acquired Lebron. Is Lebron wasting a year at that age?

Hard to trade a rough long term deal when the guy isn’t all that healthy
1-He is expected back soon, not like he is out for the season.

2-Not exactly a rough long term deal. 3 years at less than the full MLE, if I remember right......he makes like 11 million per.

I learned when it happened to Sexton and they said he's out for a year. Thought what he did and seemed really excessive. Granted was going by my own meniscus surgery to think 1-2 months seemed more like it

But you are correct.....definitely different levels and full tear can be a long time if that's what he has.

The other thing is that I have to believe Embiid misses more time than most would with a partial tear given his size and injury history.

I agree

He should definitely sit out next year as well….

I agree he was a high level prospect.

But I think you are understating how big a prospect Wiggins was.

It was more a 1A 1B situation.

Don’t think it was a total lock Embiid would have been 1 if healthy.

Hakeem has the edge on the defensive end. Embiid's a good defender, but he's not on The Dream's level.

Embiid isn't the shot blocker Hakeem was. He only averaged at least 2 blocks a game once, his so-called rookie year after missing two seasons.

Hakeem averaged at least 2.7 blks his first 12 seasons in the league. Three+ blks 9x. And four+ blks 3x.

The pre season hype on Wiggins was huge

Embiid was also pre season too 10

But embiid just snatched it away from him

It was like Barrett and Zion

I'm just going to acknowledge the elephant in the room here.

After the great Hoop migration of 2020 when 2 sports message board owners got into it and a spinoff Hoop occurred.....lot of CFB fans left and carry the CFB game day threads over there. Shall remain nameless of course. We here on the NBA threads (and to a lesser extent the NFL Game day threads) carry this place though. And to a lesser extent, the PF. The NFL game day threads get some decent action here but damn near year round.....we, the NBA'ers, provide great discussion and commentary. Free agency, the reg season, etc.

Pat yourselves on the back and take a bow.
