That Reggie Jackson clip on Lebron is probably gonna be buried so fast by ESPN it’ll be like the game never happened.

The one where Lebron fell because Reggie stepped on his foot as he was trying to shift position? Not a big deal.

That should be the goal all season, imo. They can pull him early in blowouts, keep him in longer in important games and keep him around 30 min. in the rest.

They need Rui to show up more as his primary backup though. Not much to speak of last night.

The Nuggets are gonna be a bear. Really strong team. (obviously)

Lakers are gonna have some issues with team defense. They were trotting out some odd line-ups... and individual weak links were apparent. Maybe when they get Vanderbilt back it'll look different.

Lakers don't match up well with the Nuggs. They didn't in the WCF and that didn't change in the offseason. Vando could help, but just moves the weakness to the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah....he is inconsistent and disappears too much for me....

If we could trade Russell, Hach and the '29 1st for a better player I would be all for that.

Watched the Laker/nuggets game last night.

Here are my takeaways:

1: nuggets going to be real tough to beat. Their starters all play perfectly complimentary roles around the stars Jokic and Murray.
2: Lakers are going to have to trade Dlo. Just doesn’t understand his role.
3: It is clear the Lakers plan to manage LeBron’s minutes in his 21st season. Role players need to step up.

I am surprised Denver got a grand total of zero ring chasers

Yeah... you guys are right in that Denver is a pretty damn good team who is gonna give a lot of defenses trouble.

1) agree but I still think they should do more for the bench. Idk what Derrick favors did to piss eveyone off, but he’s plus defensively and would be a pretty reasonable upgrade on Jordan, then they can aggregate for another wing

2) I 100% believe they brought him back as a “walking trade exception” as hillinger calls it. Based on 3, tbey should go for harden…

3) they absolutely have to do this

Harden can kick rocks.

Russell was brought back on a team friendly deal that allows the Lakers to either easily move him in a deal or reinvest in him later if he proves his worth. He looked very good in the preseason, but a little hesitant vs the Nuggets. Understandable, given his performance against them in the WCF. Almost expected him to overplay last night, trying to prove a point. I'll take the controlled game over playing outside his role.

Lakers lost badly in second chance points last night and made 4 fewer 3s while Denver shot over 52% from the field. Bad combination.

That's largely on Ham and the guards. Gotta run plays for him.

Blame falls on both, imo. AD started the 2nd half 0-5 and the Lakers were closing the gap. So, it made sense for others to carry the offense. But they would close the gap, the Nugs would extend the lead again and then the Lakers would close the gap again. When the Nugs started pulling away, they should have tried to get AD involved.

Having said that, AD needs to take some initiative, especially when on the floor with some of the new guys and demand the ball.
