what are they doing all year? if this is supposed to be a legit venue for talent then the coaching needs to ramp up substantially. Otherwise all you're doing is telling these kids how great they are and letting them do whatever they want while the product on the court sucks

0 and 8 man. That's hard to fathom if you're telling me Holland could be the top pick (he was predicted there on some mocks)
Nbadraft.net dropped Holland all the way to #21.

Tankathon still has him top 10.

I really think that’s a product of a one night out deal vs an NBA staff with playoff talent and diversity being able to exploit a matchup in a 7 game series. There’s something different when you get into playoffs.
Additionally, I’m just an asshole flapping my gums on a message board. NBA coaches in a series have a way of dialing into a weakness for even the great players especially during their first introduction to playoffs

I know it’s true by a historical perspective, but I don’t expect to see anything that is a perceived weakness in Chet on the defensive end be able to be used in any meaningful way. It’s just the way the Thunder play people, he’s seldom isolated on those guys and when he is he has more than held his own. Going to be fun to watch.

Halfway through his first season and people still expecting a big body to steamroll Chet possession after possession. I’ll be watching to see it if it ever happens.

Sure.

None of these guys are the generational talents

The closest is probably scoot

But even he wasn’t on that level

and he gained nothing from a shooting standpoint in a year. Nothing.

Brice Sensbaugh went from off the board to draining shit left and right in OSU. And Holtmann is not a good college coach.

Holland is def facing better opponents obviously....but why is that not translating?

This is a serious question to me.

Half way through I have yet to see Chet get bullied in any meaningful way. They have enough talent to avoid that it seems.

Because it's the regular season. In the playoffs the game slows down and becomes more physical. You know this and if it was any team other than the Thunder, you'd be saying the same thing.

In the last game vs. the Lakers, the few times that Chet ended up defending AD, he got bullied. It looked like they were intentionally trying to limit how many times he actually had to defend AD. Which was smart because AD still has 30-40 lbs. on him. The problem is that becomes harder to do in the playoffs because the pace slows down.

This team reminds me a lot of the early KD/Westbrook/Harden and Iggy teams. Like those teams, this one will soon have some choices to make re: who to keep and who to let go. If they make the right decisions, they could/should have more success than those teams.

maybe

or maybe whatever work that was put in from day 1 led us there

Give me one guy to come out of this who has a good stroke. These guys have tools and size and athleticism you can't teach. But as evidenced with OKC in a very big way you can work on the shooting. Fundamentals...etc.

I can’t let you say fundamentals without quoting Kenny Powers. Fundamentals are a crutch for the weak. They won’t be enough to deal with the Thunder.

Well they need to do more than just roll the fucking ball in the middle of the court and say go

I know the pay is probably shit to coach in the G League but these results need to be better

He knows.....He is being intentionally obtuse and homer-ish.

Next comment will be what is your team's record?

SMH.

Fuck off, I tell it like it is. If the Thunder start playing like shit I’ll say so. This team speaks for itself. Be honest you don’t know what obtuse means do you?
