Imo, depends on how you watch it. I watch it because I love seeing the early upsets and close calls that cause chaos. The disparity in talent and "sloppy basketball" that causes that is part of the fun.

I consider March Madness one of the most exciting sports times of the year.

Always like seeing the little guy pull off the upset.

It used to be.

Used to be my favorite sporting event. Looked forward to the NCAA tournament more than anything else and I watched every game.

Just not the same. Hard to generate compelling story lines when the best players are only there for 1 year.

This is probably a layer of a recent comment someone in basketball media made. Can’t remember who it was but they were talking about international players being far more prepared for the league and competing right away than the home grown players. I think that shows up in the college game. USA is AAU centric right now and kids aren’t learning the fundamentals of the game in that context. Now add in the only one year in college circumstance on top of that and they’re really getting a crash course in winning basketball once they hit the highest level. Ultimately it’s fans of the game that are punished.

Without a doubt. Nothing gets close to the all day nonstop action in a single elimination tournament. The 1st round is great television
