Is he eligible for any awards this season? Not sure how many games he's missed. What is it, all players now have to play at least 65 games to be considered for awards, how many games has Joel missed this season?
He’s played 36. The Sixers are 28-8 when he plays. Awards are one thing. However, he’s clearly been the best player to take the floor in the NBA this year and it’s not even close if we’re being honest. Nobody in the league is as important to his team. The Sixers are 14-27 without him, a win percentage of .341. The 28-8 mark constitutes a winning percentage of .778. That would be 2nd best in the entire league if it were the Sixers full season win percentage.

Embiid is going to finish the season with more points than minutes played. Nikola Jokic should send Kuminga a nice gift basket when Jokic steals another one of Embiid’s MVPs. If Baby Huey doesn’t jump on Embiid’s knee he runs away with the award this year.

I have a bad feeling about the heat this year. Last 2 teams I want to play round 1 is Boston or Milwaukee. Really wanted to line up Orlando or Cleveland
The Team Dame wanted to play for, versus the team that actually landed him, is the kinda subplot that makes the playoffs magical.

Bronny James declared for the 2024 NBA Draft on Friday, but will maintain his college eligibility while entering the transfer portal after just one season at USC, he announced Friday on Instagram. The son of NBA legend LeBron James can now explore further options for what comes next in his basketball career. Regardless of what that decision is, LeBron expressed full support of his son on Tuesday prior to the development of Bronny entering the portal.

I think it would be cool if Bronny ends up at Duquesne now that his dad's childhood friend Dru Joyce is the HC. Doubt that happens though.

It would seem to be the option where he could get more run.
I saw a suggestion that listed Pepperdine or Oregon as possible landing spots.

Pepperdine keeps him home.

I think Lebron and Bronny are playing together next year, it’s just a question of where and how it goes down.

Where: The court they have in the backyard.

How it goes down: Lebron COOKS him worse than the top players in college basketball.

Seriously, it’s the Lakers or bust.

Lebron won’t leave.

Why can't you give the Joker any credit for his unique game? So he's not the defender Embiid is. But Embiid doesn't have the court vision or the passing ability of Jokic. Both are great, but in completely different ways.

Embiid was the most dominating player in the league before he got sidelined. I hate seeing injuries to great players.

When Jokic won his first MVP he played 72 games and Embiid played 51. I still remember that talking heads saying availability is the best ability.

When he won his second MVP I guess the voters felt that a stat line of 27.1, 13.8, 7.9 and .583 shooting was better than 30.6, 11.7, 4.2 and .499 shooting.

I think the silliest part of this is to think they even could have a goal at this point. 6 games left, that’s a lot of ball still when the teams are this close. The Thunder pushed harder than anyone during the regular season.

As close as the race is, it's not silly. Presti isn't stupid. He knows who the worst matchups are and would want to avoid them as long as possible.

As I've said before, I guarantee that the Lakers are watching the standings and hoping to avoid the Nugs for as long as possible. They just may not be able to if they can't make up enough ground.

It’s not slighting Joker to point out that Embiid’s been the NBA’s best player this year.

Yep. 2 of 3 of Jokic’s MVPs only come because of Embiid injuries

Because the media is in love with analytics and don’t watch games.

Dude, I support cause to some degree, but it can’t be said that Embiid has been the best player in the league this season. If you have to say he has been the best player for less than half the season. That’s it though. You have to play.

1. Come on man it's not just about this year. You've been bashing Joker's game for multiple seasons now.

2. Nope. Joker's 1st MVP season ('20-'21) he led the league in double doubles (60) and had 16 trip-dubs (that was # 2 in the league). That season Embiid had 31 double-doubles and zero trip-dubs.

For his second MVP ('21-'22) he led the league in double doubles (66) and led the league in trip-dubs (19). That season Embiid had 46 double-doubles and 2 trip-dubs. <--that season Josh Giddy had more trip-dubs (4) than Embiid.

I spoke no lies. 38 games is a sample size plenty large enough. He has been the best player in the league this year

And
It
Isn’t
Close

@Mecca this is a good read. It’s an attempt to explain how the Thunder have 12 guys who have improved their 3 pt % over last year and gone from the worst 3 pt shooting team to the best in 2 years.

I think Jokic is a great player. Have never said otherwise.

Who gives a fuck?!?!? Why is a triple double special?!?!? This is that analytics garbage.
For his second MVP ('21-'22) he led the league in double doubles (66) and led the league in trip-dubs (19). That season Embiid had 46 double-doubles and 2 trip-dubs. <--that season Josh Giddy had more trip-dubs (4) than Embiid.
He was a fucking 6 seed. GTFO with this silly shit.
