32 finals appearances in team history would seem to indicate they are the MOST consistent contenders.

I do agree with your last statement. Would improve more than just your memory! :D
Help me understand what 1970 or 1980 has to do with the here and now? I’m a Notre Dame football fan so I’m anxious and a little bit excited to hear your answer.

I was today years old when I realized that there are still some Lakers fans that think there is a possibility of another championship with LeBron.

Next year is the last shot imo

What time frame suits you?

The past 5 years? Lakers are 1 of 5 champions
The past 10? Lakers have 1 of 10, only Warriors have more than 1 (4)
The past 15? Lakers have 3 rings, only Warriors have more (4)

Nah. It’s over. Give me the field.

can never say never with Lebron but they'd have to pull off a miracle.

The fallout from his retirement is going to suck for them. But...they're LA and they likely go on to sign someone under the cap and reset in a few years.

And in the offs he got targeted and Utah would underachieve….

It’s just not easy for the smaller guys now when you get to that point
Under 6'6" is a little harsh. A lot of smaller guys can handle their own. Mitchell is an overall above average defender and he is a big dude with a long wingspan.
Guys like Garland can get picked on easily. Even Steph, who has progressed as a defender, just not much they can do.

I would say under 6'3" with a skinny build. Derrick White does just fine and he is under 6'6".

I think Mitchell gets a bad rap from Utah. He played less defense imo possibly for multiple reasons. He was carrying the offense and maybe defense wasn't harped as much as it is in Cleveland. Utah had a really good defense but that doesn't mean everything.

I said when the trade happened I think Mitchell could be a good defender and others said he was bad, based on past performances. That definitely isn't the case. The guy is capable and he is showing it. Averaging 1.9 steals. He is a solid on-ball defender but I would say even a better off-ball defender. Garland is the obvious weak link on that defense.

Some of his weakness could be covered up by Garland getting targeted instead?

I know its almost assuredly not going to happen.....but imagine if LeBron just takes the mid-level from the Cavs for 2 years.

He comes to a team with Mitchell, Garland, Mobley and Allen and fits in perfectly to the 3 spot.

He makes like 12M a year- 24M for 2 years--- instead of like 80-90M....so he is taking like a 55-70M dollar hair cut over 2 years.....

but- your telling me he doesn't get one title out of those 2 years--- and caps off his legacy - that wouldn't be worth the hair cut?

I think its a pride thing- his ego wont let him take it- but geez- long term what would be better for him then to come home to be the finishing piece on a loaded roster and win another title?
