Meanwhile, they are paying zillions to Quinn and Branch, who are... not as good as Suh.Miami is dumping an overpaid free agent before the contract is due?
I, for one, am shocked.
Here are the state tax rates for the teams supposedly in the Cousins race.
AZ - 4.54
CO - 4.63
NY - 8.82
MI - 9.85
This is just a small part of the puzzle when it comes to recruiting Cousins. But that is some serious differences in money over 3-5 years between AZ/CO & NY/MI.
Cousins can keep his residence in Michigan if he signs with MN.
Joe Mauer, who is from here, files his fat 23 million per year taxes in Florida since he has a house there. There are ways around these things.
That is not how it works. You have to pay state income taxes in the state where that income is earned. And in some cases, the cities where you play.
Which means you having a residence in a state without state taxes, will mean endorsement & playing salary money wouldn't be taxed by that state, but all the states along with some of the cities you play in will require a tax payment.
Well, he is roughly as good as Landry so...
Miami NEVER completely overpays for free agents.
