So Spokane is 17-9-1 so far this year. 0-5-0 vs Portland, 17-4-1 against everyone else. Here's hoping someone knocks Portland out in the playoffs. In other news Holmberg had a hat trick last night (scoring all 3 Chiefs goals) and is still on pace for 80 goals and 171 points.

Tigers beat the Hitmen 1-0 in OT tonight - Swift Current, Edmonton, Calgary, and Medicine Hat are all tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with 41 points.

In other news, the Red Deer Rebels have traded the rights of Mathew Dumba to the Portland Winterhawks. Maybe the Wild will send Dumba back to junior after the WJHC tourney, if they do, Portland just got a big boost.

Here are the rosters for the CHL Top Prospects games this year.

BMO Top Prospects Game

Didn't realize this til I read the article but 19 of the 30 players selected in the 1st round last year played in this game. I'm not certain but I'm guessing that is the most that the CHL has had in a while (perhaps the most ever, since there were fewer NHL teams back when it was mostly CHLers taken in the 1st round).

So this guy wants the Sea Dogs' vacant GM position. He's been a big follower of the team for the past few years, especially when his fellow Massachusetts native Charlie Coyle joined the team a few years ago. I'm impressed that he still follows the team during the rebuild. I'm also impressed with reason #10. Most Maritimers can't even get that right. Not a big fan of reason #3. Don't think that would work too well. Could cost him the job.

They better hope so, Portland got annihilated in their games without those guys. They have zero depth. Even with them getting Dumba I'm not sure if Portland can get by Kelowna in the playoffs. Should be an interesting WCF if it happens (and I have a pretty good feeling it will).
