If you feel that actual basketball games makes better discussion then the players who are playing it, great. That is YOUR opinion.

Not even close. I said I prefer to talk about basketball and whether or not I like a specific player/team being discussed is irrelevant. I have never said that what interests me is more important than what interests others. Talk about a reach.


I'm pretty sure though that you have contributed in some other player related threads, like rankings etc...

So when you offer an opinion/reason there, are you just doing that, or trying to convince others to think like you do?

When I participate in those discussions, I really don't care if someone changes their opinion or not. That's not the point for me. I participate because it's interesting to me to discuss and I find others points of view and their reasons behind it interesting as well. If I say something that changes their thinking that's fine. If not, that's fine too. If they say something that changes my opinion or I learn something, all the better.


Think about it, there is no difference in you stating an opinion that the Lakers are fun to watch, or that some of the players they are developing may be usefull down the road, or that you don't like the coach, etc, etc, etc,.. vs me stating I think the reasoning used to mostly dislike James is petty.

Actually, there's a huge difference. I haven't tried to tell anyone that their reasons for liking/disliking the Lakers is petty or wrong. That is exactly what you have done re: Lebron.

On the Lakers boards, I'm probably the only poster who doesn't want D'Antoni fired yesterday. I express my opinion on it and other posters express why they feel he should be fired. I never tell them that their reasons are stupid, petty or anything else and they don't do that to me.

See how easy that is? Both sides get to express their opinion without the other questioning their reasons aren't acceptable.
