WTF just happened? Justin Forsett gets tackled at about a 5 yard gain, thinks he wasn't tackled, and runs 60 yards for a TD. No whistle was blown. Now the referee says that play isn't reviewable because no whistle was blown, even though replay clearly showed Justin Forsett was down.

It's a horrible rule. Give him a 15-yard penalty, but don't completely negate the review. The Lions got jobbed, but it's hard for me to feel bad for Schwartz when he called out Harbaugh last year for not knowing the rules.

Agreed with all of this. Terrible rule overrides getting the call right.

I hate how the Lions use Stafford. He gets more looks from the spread than in the i-Formation. He's always been a playaction QB, and one of the best I've ever seen.

That said, I don't understand that rule at all. Because he challenged an unchallengeable play, the play isn't reviewed? That doesn't seem right. I knew there would be a penalty as soon as the announcers said Schwartz challenged, but I figured they'd just tack the 15 yards onto the spot where Forsett was down.

The only good part of that whole fiasco was Schwartz made fun of Harbaugh last year about knowing the rules. I think Crimson is referencing that.
