well crap, punt returner doesn't catch the ball, lets it go to the goal line; starting center out with a ankle, pulling guard collides with QB and NT falls on ball for TD.

Sucks, because our Defense has only given up about 50 yards the whole game.

Offensive line and safety were my major concerns heading into game. Not so worried about safety at this point now. We all understand this was N Texas. However they are the favs to win their conference.

Offensive line did Not look good. Ash was hit many times. Few big running lanes. And we lost our starting center. We need Daje Johnson back for some screen and slot routes to take some pressure off.

I was most happy about one thing - no missed tackles. I have not seen our D look that good. Even M. Thompson who has been allergic to tackling for 3 years was taking heads off. Impressive.

It was exactly like we expected.
The defense would set the tempo, and the offense would hopefully find its rhythm.

The defense looked better than expected.
Strong has these guys tackling....which was a simple concept lost on the previous regime.

It was North Texas no doubt.
But, the last two seasons, Texas had trouble tackling any team.

Glad to be back with a signature TEXAS defense for at least one game.
We took top 10 dominating defenses for granted for too long.

It was humiliating to see the proud tradition get eviscerated the last 2 seasons.
But, again it was one game versus an overmatched opponent at home.

BYU will show a little more.....

yeah, BYU looked much 'tougher' than UCLA did in their two games this week. One game in for everybody, we'll see how it goes.

But yes, I've watched our team in the first game against cupcakes that tackled like shit. That did not happen yesterday. They crushed them defensively, which made me smile.

Hassan Ridegeway, "Green Mile" is a monster. He's going to be a beast in the next couple of years. Holy cow.

If we're being honest. No Texas looked horrible. Can't be many teams with a worse QB situation than No Texas. A lot of their throws were just short hopped. No speed on offense or defense.

that's true, their passing offense was non existent.

However, their OLine is supposed to be one of the best, with two guys on the pre season award (Lombardi? cant remember which one it's called, for best interior lineman) list, all seniors/upperclassmen.

Really? Didn't Jake Raulerson play in place of Epinoza after the ankle injury?

My post was referring to North Tx's OL, they are supposed to be good.

Raulerson came in for Espinosa, our only returning OL player with really any starting experience. Espinosa hurt his ankle bad; late night tweet I saw said they were getting him x-rays because they fear it may be worse than a bad sprain.

If we lose him, that's going to hurt big-time...

Hairline fracture for Espinoza

Getting an MRI to see if any tissue damage as well. Bad news all around. Flowers was getting owned on those sacks and generally did not seem to know what the hell he was doing.
