Murph has always been prone to the weak at bat. Just hope the good ones continue to outweigh them.

I would tend to disagree... to its seems like before this season Murph always would force a lot of pitches in an AB. I remember him having something like a 15 pitch AB vs someone one time. Anyway, there hasn't been much like that this year but hopefully he can find stride. He is going to be in there and we need him to.

Our views are largely shaped by our recent experience. Murphy's career year last year for example. However, while he's done well about working righties traditionally I just seem to remember him being prone to the occasional weak swing for an out.

you know the Angels want nothing more than walking it off tonight... our bullpen is way better than theirs though, won't happen.

The only two relievers I absolutely wanted out of the rotation were Kirkman and Lowe. Kirkman is rehabbing. He better not make his way back onto the roster before September.

Kirkman was never a reliever ... any more than Holland or Harrison were. He's a starter. Perhaps not for TEX but for someone. You can never have enough starting pitching.

Ok, but no reason to leave Perez in that long. None. Bullpen is not taxed and Rangers need every win possible. Also it brought Trout into play in an inning where he could have been in a bases loaded rather than empty base situation. Rangers have little room for foolishness with no Cruz anymore.

Agreed. However isn't nice to have a rook pitcher that can give us 7 and not gas out in the 5th posting 7 ERs?

Those ABs are few and far between this year, what he did last year is irrelevant to what he's doing now, all you can really say is, "he used to be able to work the count" (minus this game of course, i hope we're getting Murphy of old back, we need him more than ever)

Really? I felt like we had this ever since that Kendrick play... seems like luck was on our side. However, after that Murphy play... I might disagree. Pretty back night for him on D... Martin should have been in RF IMO.
